The silver-furred coyote peered at the other canine, her yellowy eye narrowing as she regarded Vieira. There was no laughter radiating from Kaena any longer, but she still found it rather amusing that the girl had taken her jesting literally and returned with a collar and chain. Perhaps the threat of punishment had kept the other canine obedient; in Viera's mind maybe it was worse for her to disobey a command rather than take the chance that Kaena was in fact joking. She seemed to stiffen at the possibility of wearing the collar and being loped to the chain, something which caused the hybrid's smile to return, dancing faintly on her lips for a moment. When that threat had passed Viei seemed to relax, finding the hybrid's praise worth a tailwag or two. The hybrid was pleased with this display; it was almost comforting to know that her words alone could serve as a source of pleasure for another living being.

The coyote once more considered the blankets, nodding to Viei. "You keep two. I'm sure you're cold at night," she said, stating rather than questioning the other canine—the hybrid felt the chill of the outside world, and she assumed it permeated all corners of her dwelling. The alcove was perhaps better suited for winter since it did not present a direct opening to the outside world, instead facing the rest of the cave. Its small size also meant that body heat was better distributed, but these facts hadn't passed Kae's knowledge; if they had perhaps she would have sought that as her own bedding area when she'd first settled into the cave. It had been summer season back then, though, and the last thought on the hybrid's mind was the weather. She had been infinitely more interested in seeing her family again.
