a warning to the people, the good and the evil

Ever since Kaena made Vieira leave the cave a few days ago, the woman felt out of place when she was actually there. She had come back later that evening and retired to bed when nothing was asked of her and woke up early to do the things she did every day. Cleaning was becoming tedious, as it always had been, because she cleaned and rearranged everything in the same order she did every time. Nothing was ever dirty or out of place and this time she finished earlier than usual. Vieira had set back in her room on the blankets in the meantime, Kaena having long since gone before the woman woke. It caused her to worry since she was not there to receive orders or to see Kaena off to where she was going and she could only imagine what would happen when her owner returned. As Vieira sat in her room, legs crossed in an Indian fashion and her hands idle, she could only worry about what would happen when the Centurion returned to the cave.

When Gabriel sounded his horn and called together the clan, it was muffled in the back of the cave where she sat in her room. It sounded urgent and she could tell that much but she did not understand the extent of it all. Vieira had never learned the workings of a clan that was supposed to be instinct but when as much of her natural was self was driven out of her by force, she was left empty and with no knowledge. Inferni was a mystery to her and she had never asked Kaena about the workings but something stirred inside her that made her move. Vieira wanted to stay back in the gave; after all, she did not have permission to leave and for a little bit she waited. Her hands were on the wall of the cave that opened up to the outside world, wishing Kaena to return in this moment to tell her what to do. She thought of Gabriel and when he found her in the cave and how intimidating he was. He attempted to enforce the lack of power her father had her but he did not know the man lived inside her mind now, controlling her every move when Kaena did not.

Kaena never appeared and her eyes scanned the surrounding area of the cave, feeling a sense of helplessness in the situation. It was a time to make a decision for herself and it was tearing apart her mind. There would be consequences with whatever she did; she was indirectly disobeying Kaena by not waiting but she feared Gabriel just as much and what he could do to either of them. He had not been pleased about the situation when Vieira had done her best to protect the elderly canine despite what lies she had to make—her face had not been an accident and she knew this. The slave inhaled a long breath and moved from the cave after a long moment and moved toward (or what she could only assume was) the direction the howl came from. It was not far because she could take in smells she had not smelled before that was mixed with those she had. Everyone was gathered up ahead, including Kaena.

Her ears fell back against her head as she glanced in that direction, her golden eyes avoiding of contact as she lingered in the background. She wanted to move ahead to stand behind Kaena but she was with Gabriel and she could not find it in herself to move to her proper place. Instead, Vieira settled for the second best option and stood a few safe feet behind everyone and did her best to make herself invisible but knew it was not entirely possible. They would see her, especially those who had before, and she would avoid them if at all possible. Now, however, was not the focus, because she as she made herself comfortable was when Gabriel spoke and her timing could not have been better. Even if his words did not seem relevant to her, she listened as if they were. Her eyes stared at the ground in front of her and her ears were submissively plastered to her skull, and she took in the words.

War was a frightening thought and she worried.

But most of all, she worried about Kaena and her mind could not focus on the words of Gabriel but the well being of her master after this information of her attack. Vieira knew not a way to make her feel better and could only do what asked. [html]
