Ruby eyes closed and she fell into blind darkness. Kaena Lykoi’s muzzle found the grandchild’s form and gave her a light brush filled with love and then disappeared. Eyes slowly opened again and she watched her proud Centurion walk up in front of the crowd. Adoration was present in the young woman then; seeing the older woman walk proudly with her injured soul over to her sons. This was Kaena’s family in every way. They would take care of her and protect her. War was coming and it Kaena’s incident seemed to be the main reason for it. Lips parted somewhat and the young woman strived not to be consumed by the odd and sorrowful jealousy that wrestled within. So much suffering there was all over. Justice could never be served all. Ruby eyes quickly flickered over to the black and gold of Samael Lykoi. Would justice ever find him and strike him down for what he had done? He would be a strong ally in the blooming war, though she found herself wishing for the male’s death with such intension that she felt shame. Her ruby orbs danced away with burden weighting them down towards the white and brown ground. She wanted to seek out the Aquila and find strength in his confidence and strength, but she was too weak to lift her gaze to a creature seated so close to the man that had violated her. Pain was something she knew well by now and she would deal with it in silence like she had done in the past.

Then at one point her fiery red eyes found cool ice and a jolt of her heart was accompanied by temporary peace within. She had not noticed the strange Silas arrive and she had barely caught the smile that had possibly been intended for her before he turned away. Her own gaze retreated and she found the hardened ground right in front of her. Her oversized ears were paying absolute attention to the voices rising and falling around her, but her voice would remain hidden for now. It did not matter much what her wishes and feelings were in this conflict, for she would follow her Aquila nevertheless. She had found passion in her rank though she knew not what she would think of this war. The horrible truth of death had ripped her apart once before and she found herself almost dreading this. It was fear and she loathed it. She knew what she would do tonight though. She had planned this a few nights ago and this meeting was just a mere coincidence. She would venture deep into Dahlian territory and pierce the beast’s heart with silver bullets. Just like Samael Lykoi, her half brother deserved death, though the difference was that Haku was free game while Samael was not. A small smile suddenly bloomed on the young hybrid’s face. There would be blood and she was certain she would taste it again and find out if she was worthy after all.
