There existed a time when shadows ruled the world, a time when the good men slept their troubles away, and the wicked paraded imperially in the pale moonlight. She was a creature of darkness; a Queen within her own rights. Dusk was gradually settling over Dahlian territory, giving her eyes the shadows necessary for optimal vision. This moment had long been awaited; all the right ingredients had been acquired over a period of several months, and shaped into an army worthy of praise. It was a beautiful thing for Haku Soul at the head of such power, making him untouchable for as long as they played their cards right. Easier said than done, she knew. Thavardo’s blood coursed through her grandson’s veins, which made fighting the Aquila quite taboo. How could she harm the visionary’s progeny? For once in her life, the madwoman found herself at a complete loss. Long-time implanted beliefs were not something one could overlook so easily.

The Rosen had aroused her from a winter’s dream, to which she responded by granting him continuous silence as explained the day’s procedures. The upcoming pack meeting was meant for her this time, as opposed to the last one when her task had consisted of babysitting the former Dahlian alphess. An illness, she claimed, had been the source of her inability to make an appearance. How impolite! But Cercelee and her bastard of a mate were gone now, and Lillith had done nothing to stop them from escaping. Good riddance. Caring for them had been a little too strenuous, and for what reason? Dahlia de Mai did not need burdens of the sort, not in times of war. Haku had gotten a head start, granting her a few precious moments to rub the sleep from her eyes.

Their arrivals were less than five minutes apart. The madwoman ambled over to the blue-eyed monster’s right side, never once sitting or relaxing the agitated posture she’d adopted. Pack meetings were not her cup of tea. Gatherings brought forth excessive wariness, for the last time she’d seen a considerable amount of people discussing war, Azathoth’s downfall had ensued.
