From azure to liquid gold, the firmament presaged what would inevitably come next. Nightfall was approaching; another fifteen minutes and things would get ugly. There was no hope left for the good-hearted souls, the ones who wanted nothing but peace, because the Rosen’s reign was no small predicament. It was a swirling vortex of chaos, immorality, and obliteration. Alexey anticipated complications, knowing that history would repeat itself, as was always the case with ancient rivalries. His call rang crystal clear, and the Acer found herself flinching with trepidation and reminiscence of what it meant. So, this is what it had come down to; another meeting, more foreseeable bad news. It had become a familiar pattern of sorts, and it felt like déjà vu from their last gathering. Reluctantly as always, the cinnamon fey rose to her feet and sought the man in charge, heading for the town square at a pace that was considered, in her opinion, tolerable.

Her chest was heavy with anxiety as she ran into several foreign scents, a solid three of them never encountered before. Where had they all come from? Suddenly, she regretted not having Conor at her side. She could have waited for him to catch up, but the thought did not cross her mind until it was too late. Her gait slowed considerably when four figures appeared before her, not one of them recognizable with the exception of the alpha. A short inhale-exhale exercise gave her limbs the strength to push forward, up to the place where her presence was required. The wolves present were a strange-looking bunch; a dishevelled woman, a cloaked minion, and another oddity of sorts. Amber-hued orbs swept over the area, taking in every single face in attendance, before settling on the blue-eyed monster. She did not speak, but her gaze exuded apparent curiosity. What the hell was going on?

Cautious, Alexey retreated to the far end of the town square, silently wishing for someone familiar to emerge from the distance. Oh Conor, where are you?
