yay war! 430 words

Tokyo was slow to mobilize. And she was actually fairly annoyed that she had to in the first place. Ignoring the upset squeaking of her day-old son as she shifted, she proceeded to empty the books and miscellaneous trinkets out of her green purse, then grabbed a warm woolen dress she had from the other side of the cave. Carefully lining the bottom of the bag with that dress, she pulled a couple other random articles of clothing from a pile on the side and made a sort of nest. Carefully picking up King, she murmured reassurances and tucked him carefully inside of the bag. Grabbing the nearest dress, which happened to be a light dark blue and green swirled sundress, Tokyo pulled it over her head.

Slinging her son over her shoulder, she started towards the exit of her den only to stop as she walked by the large shard of mirror that was hanging on her wall. God, her hair looked terrible. With a sigh, she set King down again and gave her hair a vigorous five minute brushing. The golden brown curls once more at an acceptable level of control and flounce, she picked up the bag and trotted out towards the source of the sound. Her left hand rested protectively on the bag at her hip, rubbing gently against the small form she felt inside. While walking, she grumbled as if the little thing could actually hear her: "Seriously? Another mandatory meeting? This is absurd. I should be at home, taking care of you." His vigorous squeaking was clearly agreement.

Thankfully it didn't take too long to make it to the meeting place. Where the hell had all these strangers come from? In particular, her ice blue eyes slid over the dark female at Haku's side, and something akin to jealousy sparked in the pit of a stomach and caught Tokyo momentarily off guard. How long had it been since the last meeting? A month! And six wolves present that she didn't know, out of seven. Only one of those she didn't know even looked familiar - the golden kid near Alexey. He must be Emwe's brother, that other son of Haku's. He was pretty enough, but King would be stronger, and bigger. Tokyo knew it. Completely disregarding the multitude of strangers, she approached her leader and sat herself down on the side that the black female was not. Sitting cross-legged, she carefully lifted her son out of the green bag, plopping him on her lap and stroking him idly, her eyes now fixed on her leader.
