Faces blurred and distorted; the Acer was caught in a nightmare from which she could not wake up. Avoiding eye-contact eased her anxiety to a certain extent. The arrival of several peculiar-looking wolves was quite disconcerting, and she found herself struggling to catch a glimpse of familiarity. Conor’s presence helped tremendously, allowing her to realize how dependent she’d truly become. Their gazes intertwined briefly and in silence, they shared countless thoughts and concerns. Their wordless exchange was however interrupted by Alexey herself, as she diverted from the comforting amethyst of his eyes. Something about the way she felt about the Rosen’s son brought forth feelings of paranoia. One lingering glance, one fleeting touch, could reveal the secrets hidden within. She wouldn’t take that chance, not now. Her inner debate was interrupted when a neon shade of aquamarine caught the corner of her eye. The dishevelled woman was looking straight at her- no, straight through her. Whoever she was and whatever her reasons were, Alexey couldn’t help but recoil considerably.

Kol’s arrival served as an excuse for her to peel her eyes away from the madwoman. Her receivers lowered even closer to her head, knowing that their relationship was well on its way to self-destruction. Her heart yearned for reconciliation while her head required an admission of guilt. She was trapped between two extremes, unable to yet give in. Then came Tokyo, flamboyant as ever, carrying a mini version of herself. It was obvious, if not by the child’s appearance, then by the place she chose, that Haku Soul had sired yet another poor little boy. Obviously, the man would never learn from past experiences. Emwe was the next familiar face to make an entrance, atypically quiet for someone of his nature. An affectionate smirk was directed his way before she resorted to a stoic expression. More people arrived, followed by the Rosen’s dreadful announcement. The Caregiver found herself wondering why it did not surprise her. Regardless of whether she had expected it or not, his words stung like a thousand needles. This wasn’t just another war. This time, important things were at stake. Conor, Emwe, Mew’s children, Kol... She flinched inwardly, remembering that many moons ago, the violet-eyed femme had been the one to rescue her from Ahemait Lykoi and Ahren de le Poer.
