Had she made her mind now? Was this her final choice? Did she even want to join another pack because of what happened to her old one? The one answer for all of those questions were yes. Naiya didn't like being a loner anymore. She liked being around others and not just the canines that she crosses paths with rarely. Although she was only two she felt that she had done all the exploration she needed to and now wanted structure and the love of a pack system once again. To her nothing could compare to such a thing. That was part of the why she split paths with her mother. After the all out war that went on during her old pack, April didn't want anything to do with other packs. She believed her heart was stuck in one place and one place only.

Naiya's black padded paws hit the ground in a sort of rhythm as she ran and her bushy pure white fur swayed in the wind. She had smelt the pack borders, making her know that she was close. Being excited to be part of a pack again she tried to waste no time in getting their. Naiya already knew some about the pack that she would hopefully be able to join, Phoenix Valley. She knew the packs leader name and how the pack operates, she had learned the information from a loner who had left the pack for some unknown reason. Probably for love or the fact she didn't want to fight in the war, but for whatever the reason was Naiya didn't care.

Hello and welcome! ^^ Good job on your first post!

It was unusual, knowing the pack was completely under his command again. It always had been, since his initial promotion to leader over a year back, but it had been quite some time since he'd served as leader alone. Now two subleaders had passed in and out while he was still in command, and going through it was just as hard as it had been the first time. He'd been fond of DaVinci--not many could call themselves close friends with the antisocial gimp--but that was what the silver coyote had been. He'd caused trouble with Inferni in his time there, not to mention lost Iskata's daughter to them permanently. Jefferson had been upset that DaVinci left so quickly and suddenly, but ultimately, it had been for the better good. Phoenix Valley had definitely settled back to its laid-back, whimsical nature since then, and that was how Jefferson liked it.

But with Geneva's fall, it was clear she couldn't lead beneath him anymore. He wasn't sure if she welcomed the change or not, as they hadn't exactly talked it over--but she hadn't said much at all, either. It was appropriate, at least for now, while she recovered and stayed in the ranch house. The cyclops took time to visit her, but he was often treated to a cold shoulder, and that was that. Geneva needed to be left alone, and Jefferson went to browsing the pack lands and borders instead.

The sound of a stranger, a lonely howl at the borders, reached his ears almost immediately. They were not far, and the three-legged wolf moved at a comfortable pace in meeting them. The scent was foreign, strange; the woman he happened on, perhaps less so. In fact, she looked perfectly normal. "Hello," the gimp said flatly, approaching with his typical limp. "Jefferson; I lead here. You need something?"

A howl crossed the ears of Ty Trenton Nasphrite, who was near the borders simply out of habit, it's what he did in his free time. The borders, while nothing special, were what Ty liked to at least have eye contact with. It was that promise of the new and the free flowing in that kept Ty going, anything that would be unusual to see, a new wolf, a threat perhaps, or a friend, whatever it would be, it would be a change from the norm, that's why Ty was near the borders so frequently.

And apparantly, today was a day for something new to come in.

Turning his head towards the wailing sound, Ty eventually brought his tawny frame around from it's current destination and headed towards the sound of the howl. A peice of him was eager to see what had stumbled onto the Phoenix Valley border, but the other half, Ty's protective side, was cautious as ever. A wolf who knowingly crosses the border, and even lets themself be known, is either looking to join the pack, or looking to fight, and with a war nearby, and ambush on nearby territories isn't that unheard of, nevertheless, Ty pressed on. He was at a light jog, of course, nothing too fast, but not at a speed that would hinder his meeting the howler either.

When he did eventually reach the source of the howl, he was not surprised to see the wolf standing there, but he was surprised that it was a lone wolf, simply waiting on the edge of the borders. Few were so polite or so observant that they would activly stand and wait on the borders until someone allowed their entrance, surely this wolf had a background with packs, or at least knew their boundries as an outsider.

Eventually the bronze-furred canine made himself known, stepping out of the trees and bushes with a certain amount of regality. The light scratches and scars on Ty's frame now revealing themselves in the sunlight, nothing like the damage their leader had received, but still apparant. He made a loud bark to get the female's attention before moving closer to her, his mind still being slightly cautious to an outsider's behavior, it was nothing to do with the wolf before him, but these days, one couldn't be too careful.

As he neared, he noticed Jefferson had got there first, though why he hadn't seen that before had shamed Ty's own sense of attentiveness. Not wanting to disturb the leader, he attempted to make it look like he had purposely came a few seconds late, but was a sort of leader escort, as a way of making the pack look more powerful and the leader more important He then stood in an attentive manner, welcoming yet protective, diplomatic, but erring on caution. Ty wasn't one to simply welcome strangers into his home without a bit of an explanation, but so far, this wolf was quite diplomatic, even if all she did was howl. "Is this the one who howled?" Ty asked eventually, his eyes looking over the girl. "What's yer name miss?"

THANK YOU.

Naiya waited a bit and then she could see a scarred up Lupus from, the smell of it male. When cinnamon coated wolf started to speak her thoughts were confirmed. He was the alpha of the pack. Now she would most defiantly have to make a good first impression since it was the alpha she was talking to. Instead of her ears being perked up like usual she lowered them just a bit and her tail as well to show respect to the alpha that spoke. "Hello its very nice to meet you, I have heard so much about you and your pack." She paused and then giggled slightly. "Good things of course that is." she said with a smile and then continued. "My name is Naiya and I have come here to hopefully join your pack, if you'll have me that is, sir." She said bowing her head to him.

Even though Naiya was interested to hear his story on how he got all of his battle scars, she knew she couldn't dare ask him to explain why. After all it was his business and on the top of that a alpha. So it would be disrespectful for especially a loner to ask such a thing. Distracting her from the current wolf in front of her and of her thoughts was the low bark of another male Luperci. When he began to speak Naiya listened to him just as respectfully as the alpha. Well it wasn't so much as respect to wards the other wolf, but more of kindness. "Nice to meet you, my name is Naiya. I am the one that howled. I howled because I wish to join this wonderful pack you both have here." she stated in a business type tone as well.

The two wolves before seemed like gentlemen and some real fighters at that. Like Naiya they carried scars as well, but her scars weren't nothing compared to theirs. Hers were just scratches in comparison. Even though the two came off as gentlemen Naiya was sure to her guard up. Although Naiya had heard about the pack being good and all, who says the wolf that told her wasn't lying. And any case Naiya always kept an eye on others since she was taught to never judge a book by its cover.

Ty appeared just seconds after he, reporting to the sound of a call like the loyal Praeas Jefferson had known him to be. The scars on his lips twitched; no smile erupted there, but a sense of pride swelled within him, the brute honored to know he had been a part of Ty's childhood and a plausible reason for his sensibility as an adult. Jefferson had never liked children and had been unsurprisingly skeptical when Iskata had commanded him to mentor the boy as a pup--they had gotten along well, the cyclops soon not minding the boy's company. He'd been heartbroken when Ty left as quickly as his father later did, and Jefferson was oh-so-subtly ecstatic when Ty had suddenly returned.

Refocusing his thoughts, however, he considered the stranger's presence. She carried herself well, clearly undaunted by the leader's countless scars and rather grim appearance--a first, really, considering how many strangers were quick to turn away their eyes. She introduced herself quickly and got straight to the point, and as far as Jefferson was concerned, she had no reason to yet doubt herself. He was, however, concerned at the concept that both he and his pack were renowned to someone--who had told her about Phoenix Valley? And what the hell had they said to make her so excited?

He pointed at her a slight smirk at the corner of his lips. This would be interesting. "I don't see why not," he began, turning a quick, knowing eye to Ty before returning. "What can you offer us in skills? Maybe Ty here can enlighten you on our weak points, hmm?"

ooc: sorry about taking so long, I had to watch a VERY important show.

Ty scrutiniezed the new wolf slightly, observing her actions. His protective nature prevented him from being overly friendly, but once the wolf explained she wanted to join the pack, he lightened right up. His muscles relaxed and he went to a sitting position, though still attentive as to not look sloppy. So far, the new wolf was alright, very diplomatic, friendly, and respectful, if she wanted to join, he didn't have any objections.

However, that was for the leader to decide, who was right next to him. It was weird now seeing Jefferson as a leader, not just his mentor anymore. It had been so long since either one of them had a real chat as well, in fact, Ty hadn't actually spoken directly to Jefferson since he got back from overseas and rejoined the pack. However, Ty snapped back into reality once Jefferson addressed him. It took him a minute to think about, but trying to be helpful, Ty explained what he knew, at least. "Well...from what I've seen," he began. "We have an apothecary, although she's in training. Also there are few warriors, though we don't need many as we aren't exactly a war pack if you've noticed. Though...we don't have someone to keep an eye out for the pups...after all, those little buggers when they get to a certain age are very...adventurous...But other than that we could always just use more scouts and such."

Shrugging, Ty glaced over to Jefferson, then back to the new wolf. "But that is what I've seen, I don't know if that helps." He remarked before glancing towards Jefferson again. This was something he really hadn't done with Jeff before, he'd never been near Jefferson as an adult, usually Jefferson had spoken to him like a child, or someone he would mentor, now when Jeff addressed him, it was as an equal, as an adult. The experience was overall a strange one for Ty.

Its ok.

Naiya listened to the two as they talked. She was very interested in what they had to say since she was trying to join their pack and plus the fact that she was respective of them. Her blue and green eyes scanning their faces as she listened. Naiya knew that she had skills all she was trained forcefully to be a warrior of her old pack and she had a slightly larger built that a other female. So the best fields for her was Warrior, Hunter and since she had great leaderships skills she could possibly land a higher position in the pack, but it was very unlikely that she was going to get it since she was new to the pack and all. But that was all up to the alpha.

"Well Sir I am a good fighter, hunter and I have pretty strong leadership skills. Hmmmmm....I'm also good at getting information out of others and tricking them into doing some things for me, if that is of any value." She wasn't so sure of telling the alpha and the other male the last part, it could be useful to the pack in some kind of way, well she hoped. When the other male had brought the thought of a pup caretaker, Naiya didn't really not want that rank since she liked pups and their crazy ways. But she just felt that she needed to be challenged with rough field work, like hunting. Whatever rank he ended up giving her was fine with her, as long as she got to be productive within the pack.

Jefferson was pleased, though not surprised, at Tyrone's memory when it came to the pack. He listed their openings to near perfection, and it occurred to the leader that his former apprentice was quietly tracking each and every member beneath them. That was his duty, after all, to know the pack well and protect it; knowing its strengths and deficiencies fell right in the same category. Jefferson chose not to comment in addition, and allowed Naiya to speak instead.

His ear twitched. Perhaps leadership skills were not the greatest thing to bring up at that moment in time. Geneva's recent spill had not only knocked her out of commission for a while, but she'd stepped down from her subleader rank as well. For the time being Jefferson led alone, and perhaps he'd begun to prefer it. He cocked a brow, for once choosing to suppress his rising emotions--his mane stood on end regardless--and he gruffly turned his green eye away.

"Fine," he barked. "If you wish to stay here, you'll start at the bottom of the ranks, Loas. Work your way up, and maybe we'll see about 'leadership.'" His last words were filled with a sort of spite, a bitterness within them that he chose not to explain. His stomach twisted, and suddenly he felt he needed to visit the ranch and see if Geneva was up and active today. He turned quickly and skulked away, back to his usual grumpiness. "Take care of her, Ty," was all he grunted as a farewell, and he hastened out of view.
