Evening was falling fast and the incoming hush was powerful. Sound by sound Ethereal Eclipse silenced itself, coordinating with fading sunlight. First the scampering of the squirrels and chipmunks up and down tree branches ceased. Then the random snapping of twigs or rustle in the underbrush was no longer heard as the smaller forest animals settled in for the night. The twittering of the birds was one of the last sounds to fade away, leaving only the chirping crickets throwing their particular song out into the darkness, but bit by bit the crickets called it quits and only the soft fall of footsteps resonated in the still forest. Nayru had ventured out of Dahlia de Mai often enough to feel comfortable with an excursion to the forest that dominated the land west of her home. The cow colored girl had also spent many nights outside of the home she shared with so many others, nestled safely in Wolfville, but always within the borders of her pack. Never had the fairy child been so far from home when the blanket of night blotted out all daylight. Her tardiness in returning to Dahlia had been accidental, she had intended to be back home and in bed by this time but the scent of a roaming bear had forced her to change course considerably, and unfamiliar with the forest this far south she had gotten more than a little lost. Nayru knew well enough to go north and east, but navigating the unfamiliar terrain by blotted out starlight was proving more of a challenge than she would have imagined. Crimson eyes widened in an effort to see clearer but the thick cover of leaves above made it nearly impossible and Nayru was forced to just move as silently and slowly as possible, her ears and nose doing all the work to alert her to anyone near by. Fear was an unfamiliar emotion to the girl, and even now what she felt couldn’t be described exactly as that, but certainly her nerves were on edge more than they had ever been since her coming to Dahlia de Mai months ago. It was the loud breaking of a branch from behind that finally caused her heart to pound in fright, and spinning quickly to face the unknown, she called out, her voice firm and brave even as her hands shook. "Who’s there?" Nayru wished now for the dagger Saluce had spoken about, but unarmed and inexperienced in self defense the best she could do was put on a brave face and hope for the best. |

He was also very close to his family making him a little conscience of his actions, but not as much as he would like at times. Going outside the borders was a rarity for the 9 month old and now with his optime form in action he was eager to explore and take on both real and imaginary monsters. Truth be told he didn't pay any attention to where he was going, he just went but not without the aid of a 'sword'. It was a sturdy branch he had taken the time to fashion into what he thought to be impressive and quite the beating tool even though swords were meant for cutting. He hadn't bothered to ask if it was okay to have one, he knew his parents probably wouldn't like him swinging a real sword about, especially when he got in the mood to make his sister play fight with him, making her the villian. He didn't care how old he was there was always time to practice his fighting skills. Running around he would leap off rocks and swing his sword at branches, sometimes taking them out sometimes not. Not only was he practicing his swinging power, he was practicing his stealth. Hiding behind a tree he would spot a critter and try and sneak up on the poor unsuspecting target then run out full sprint and swing his broad sword at it in full out roar. "You better run, vermin!" He yelled as the little bird, rat, rabbit, chipmunk, or squirrel ran away. He would laugh happy with the fear he instilled into the creature. Standing there he put his wooden sword into the homemade sheath and stood proudly. His eyes looking around seeing that the light was dimming throughout the forest. Lifting his head he sniffed at the air ears perked listening. This would make for a better training environment.. He thought not even thinking that he should be heading home yet. Slowly he crouched down hand on the handle of his sword as his eyes looked squarely on a low branch as he got as close as he thought appropriate her ran drawing out his sword and slashed downward with all his might breaking the limp. His ears immediately perked as he heard the sound of a female voice. Eyes went wide as it broke his concentration. He looked into the direction it came from frozen in his stance. Looking down to the sword he quickly sheathed it. He stood straight and coughed some clearing his voice so it didn't crack when he spoke. It was rare anymore that it did so, but still this was a female he was going to talk to, he couldn't dare allow himself to be flawed. "I'm Aro..Aro Marino!" He called out, "...and who are you!?" He took a few steps in the direction he heard her voice then paused waiting to hear her again, hopefully he didn't imagine it..now that would be lame..

It made him gain a crooked smile, Ah, I eased her with just my voice.. He suddenly gained a more prideful stance as he felt proud by the smallest change. His light blue eyes looked out into the darkness his eyes didn't seem to have as much of a challenge seeing around as his did, perhaps it was because he loved the dark, and how much cooler and crisp the air seemed at night than during the day. A smirk formed hearing her wanting to know where he was, wanting him to make noise. His ears folded back as he spoke, "What kind of noise would you like?" He asks almost teasing, he couldn't help but be ornery and slightly smart about her request. Hearing her talk and with how much lighter of a coat she had, he could already see her slowly getting closer to him. Being able to see her he knew she was close, and he could almost make out her form. She was cute! Her blotchy coat was unique and he liked unique. Lost in staring at her moving he didn't pay attention to how close she was until she spoke, and his eyes looked up from her body to her. His cheeks got heated and he stumbled his own words when he looked into her eyes. Their crimson tones stuck out against her coat, "..uh...um, hi..." He almost beat himself for how he spoke ..smooth, just smooth! You're a hero! You shouldn't be stuttering!" He tried to recover as he looked down for a moment, then looked up, "What are you doing out here all alone so late?" His light blues looking back into her eyes again. He felt like that was the proper thing to do, maintain eye contact. It was better than staring at her like a numb skull, which he was doing earlier. He wasn't sure if that question was a good recovery, but it was something to get her mind off his stupid stuttering. He drew in a sharp breath to try and fill the odd knot that seemed to be forming in his stomach. He was feeling foolish and he didn't know why. He had never felt shy or this unsure of himself before.

She didn't mention his stammering, so he began to feel better, and his question was a success. A more confident demeanor came from him, and when she mentioned danger, Aro was on it like a dog for a tennis ball. "Really!?"He exclaimed as he leaned against the tree like a slick, confident, brave male. When she mentioned needing to go home, he thought more, she was a female in danger, and in need of assistance! Just the thing he had been itching for...well, not so much that fact she was..well a female. It was more so the fact that he could finally be helpful and the fact that she was cute was a bonus. He could prove himself and, well how far could she be? Then she continued and his eyes grew wide hearing that she was from Dahlia, "You're very far from home! Mmm.." He brought up his left hand and lifted his head some stroking his fur back. "Well, how about I take you home? I'm sure my parents will understand when I explain to them your situation." A smooth smile creased his muzzle as those pale blue eyes light up with excitement. It all honesty his parents were probably going to be pissed that he was traveling that far away, and the trip would probably take all night she was way closer to Crimson Dreams than Dahlia for sure. Regardless the tuxedo boy was up for it, up for the adventure. With one leg he kicked his body off the tree, "Well then, we don't have all night to get you home, now do we?" He said as he began to walk boldly his eyes looking at the rocks looking for large amounts of moss, he remembered something about how moss grew on one side more so than the other, the north side to be exact. He was going to show just how skilled he was and how brave. His nose naturally picking up scents as he walked along, "...so, Nayru was it? What brought you out here to begin with?" He began to talk idly, but also curious about what brought her out here, all alone. It wasn't very safe, especially since inferni--well, no they didn't venture out here very often, that wouldn't be a danger, but still! Anything can go wrong, she needed protection! His mind wheeled about as he puffed out his chest. He'll protect her from any danger! Not only her, but anyone. His imagination began to take hold as his eyes began to look out with intensity staring down any critter that came in their path.

He was excited at the prospect of traveling, of escorting another to safety. It was his dream and when she mentioned Dahlia being so far, he merely shrugged and went 'ah' as if saying so what, who cares? Finally, he had found the moss and knew for sure which way to go through the woods. He pushed passed a branch and held it back so she could pass by it clearly, his eyes looking at her with a nice smile as she began to answer him. Exploring, he remembered doing that all over Crimson, he was beginning to know its layout like the back of his paw, but he was slowly beginning to know it so well he could navigate blind folded. The thought made him almost want to do so. He nearly laughed then let the branch go as she asked him the questions, "Yeah, I've explored, but I don't go far from my family, I have to keep them safe, you know?" It was a rhetorical question, but he added it in there anyway. As he mentioned keeping his family safe he puffed out his chest slightly as he continued to walk navigating on now that he was sure they were going the right way. The moss becoming their guide, his eyes took a quick glance over to her as he then went on, "...I take it you explore a lot, huh?" He gave a light smile, curious to know more about her, "Where have you been?" The white and black girl seemed rather reserved quite different from his sister, that was for sure. He really liked it, his sister annoyed him at times. Perhaps she was more mature, but still she was younger but not by much so why would she be so different in behavior. Either way her reserved behavior was a nice change in pace for him, he felt more relaxed by it somehow despite him being so outgoing. He did love to wonder off though he hadn't ever wondered too far. Perhaps it was the fact that it worried his parents and he didn't like to upset them at all really, but his curiosity was always there and being independent was one of his strong traits. They were slowly getting further and further away from Crimson and for a moment he was beginning to feel slightly nervous. He had never spent a night away from his parents and he knew that his mom especially would become worried. Maybe he should have said something, or let out a call? It was too late of a thought now, so he would try and push the nagging thought away. Being this deep and this far out he needed to have his senses up, and he needed to really focus if they were going to make it back unharmed. Aro had never been in true danger and now as he became more serious about their venture the more he began to realize he hadn't ever had to face it. His nerves began to stir as his imagination again flared. He shook his head closing his eyes blinking hard. Pull yourself together, Aro! He yelled at himself, inside his head. There was a steep incline and he jumped down landing stealthily. Standing, he turned around to face her holding out his arms, hands out, to help ease her down. Inside he really hoped she would allow him to help. His ears went back slightly as he awaited her, his arms tensed; somewhat on purpose and somewhat out of anticipation that he would be touching her and holding her for a second. For a that exact moment his eyes looked slightly shy as they met hers.

When the younger female spoke of family and how big it was he smiled, "Yeah, I have a decent sized family, they're also scattered all over the place...really. Some of my family isn't even blood related, but they're a Marino by heart." He touched his chest as he spoke with a smile. His eyes looked up trying to see some of the stars, but the vegetation from the trees made them near to none. It was slightly disappointing to him, but as she spoke again his mind focused again to her voice and what she had to say. "Wow..don't your parents get worried about you traveling so far alone?" His eyes turned back to her showing some of his concern in his expression. Turning back to the front his lips went together as his brows went inward. As he took her hand, he noticed how much more delicate it was than his. Already he was beginning to have strong masculine hands. As she eased down he replied, "You're welcome, Nayru..." His mind wondered back to her travels and began to show slight concern again, "...have you thought about having a traveling companion?" He asked curiously as he drew out his fake sword wacking at some brush to clear it out of the way so they'd have a clear path. With how long they had been walking it wouldn't be a surprise if they weren't halfway there. Honestly, his lids were starting to get heavy. It had been the longest he'd been up for, but he wasn't going to stop not until they made it to Dahlia. His arm swung in a slightly lazy motion as his mind zoned out thinking to himself. "..you know..maybe you can come to Crimson sometime...and we can go on one of these travels together.." His eyes glanced back wondering one she thought about that, "..or I can come to Dahlia at times too...you can show me around the place.." He added as he felt some warmth come to his cheeks continuing to swing the wooden sword about. It was then that he realized just how stupid he looked swinging a wooden sword around like an idiotic pup. Quickly he sheathed it back up and folded his arms not sure what to do with them.

MUSE! Aro was genuinely shocked to know that her parents didn't mind. Aro hadn't ever stayed the night away from his parents. He knew his mom would be furious when he finally returned not to mention his dad would surely be upset to, but surely with a good explanation they'd both understand. A big smile crossed his mug when he heard her say she would come to crimson sometime, and that they can travel together. She'd be his first genuine female friend...though he did find her quite cute, and her voice was so sweet sounding to his ears. He gulped a little nervous at the prospect of such things. Being a friend to someone that he found so very attractive. Was it possible? He'd find out sure enough. Ears perked and he looked back, "Perhaps, I would like to, but I know my parents will be fretting quite a bit...though..I know I need the rest..so...sure why not?" He laughed some as he turned back to the front of him so he didn't trip. He felt a little flushed for a moment. Gone a whole night, ooh he's going to be in deep mud for this. His eyes blinked hard as the moon was high in the sky now, and all this walking and traveling was wearing him down. Surely they had to have been walking for hours now. His nose dipped toward the sky and he drew in the scents. They were far from Crimson now, and he could smell salt in the air they were at the bay, his eyes grew wide as he scurried down to the water, "Which way..." He said to himself. They had walked virtually in a straight line. He hoped he wasn't making her tired, they hadn't taken a break at all and walked straight on here. Four and a half hours of straight walking, luckily they hadn't ran into danger, except for a few spider webs, and a snake which he threw with his wooden sword. He was beginning to feel hungry, maybe he should have killed it and saved it to cook, but eh. His eyes looked back to her. "...do we need to go east now...right?" His nose detected there was a pack that way, and not too far either. It was about an hour from this point now, so not too much more walking thankfully. His sky blues took on an almost emerald blue in the heavy full glare of the moon. His eyes broke from hers to look at the sky. Another grin formed. "Man...those stars..mmhmm" He said under his breath. Why was he so fascinated with them? Then his brows came together remembering how his mom said you could navigate by the stars. He didn't ask how, but perhaps he could learn when he read about them. He had yet to do that, maybe him and his---no, why not her? [/B]"Hey...do you know how to read?"[/B] He asked curiously as he began to walk along the coat heading in an eastern north direction following it making sure to stay at her side as they walked along the sand.

She was quite the excitable one, despite her quiet appearance she gave off. He nearly halted into her when she slowed. His eyes widened in shock for a moment, then he quickly collected himself. He felt slightly embarrassed. She seemed to know how to read really well. He knew some words here and there from attempting to follow his father when he read to them. "Well, I know how to read a little, some words, but not enough. Does Halifax...or even perhaps Conor have books on stars and things like that?" He asked slightly shy as he lifted one arm to nervously scratch the back of his head, eyes averted to not look at her expression fearing she'd think him stupid or something. Why her opinion mattered so much he didn't know, but it did. Looking back to the red eyes girl, he looked into those eyes. It seemed they met directly for the first time, the moon's light allowing him to see her more clearly. To him her red eyes looked like gems, beautiful and full of intense life. He let out a smile, "Ha, let's get you home..." He picked up pace a little, as he thought about how nice it could be to spend more time with her...learning to read more quite the bonus. However, it was more the fact it was an excuse to be with her. A smile came over him as he was now beginning something new, something exciting, but almost frightening to him as well. He drew in a deep breath taking note of the pack land scent. He had never been to another pack territory that he could remember, let alone Dahlia. They were friendly right? He remembered something about coyote's and Dahlia...something about them fighting. Were coyote's bad? Was Dahlia bad? Certainly, Dahlia wasn't I mean, how could such a kind female be produced in Dahlia. He was so curious now, so excited.

You seem really brilliant I'm sure there is a lot I can learn from you." as I'm sure there are somethings you can learn from me.. he thought but didn't say as he put up his arms and stretched them as he walked leisurely, his eyes glanced over again when she spoke about borrowing books, "That would be nice.." then she began to pick up speed again. He muffled a groan Maaaann... He picked up pace as well. Entering into the territory he took note of the distinct scent that was not like Crimson's. "So, this is your Dahlia..." Is eyes looked around taking mental notes of the territory. Immediately she began to show him around, he couldn't help but admire her when she was excited. A twinkle came to her red eyes that just somehow made her more attractive. He hadn't noticed he was staring at her with a twinkle of his own as she pointed everything out. He would give those things a mild glance, but she had his attention more than the atmosphere. The young male was beginning to feel this crush, though it was there the first time he saw her but now he was actually beginning to recognize it. It was at this point he realized he was staring at her and tore his gaze away with a small laugh trying to play it off, "Yeah? Have you ever drank any of the wines before? I know my dad from what I heard use to drink some of the human made drinks...I wonder what they taste like?" He asked curious of of it.

He wanted to try it curious to explore new things and know about them was Aro's number one goal in life. His eyes looked back to the sweet female before him and followed her his eyes wondering here and there as he was really feeling himself want to sleep, but refused to give in, especially in her presence. Finally they came to what appeared to be her home and her coming to the door confirmed it. The black and white boy stayed as quiet as wolfishly possible, her warm hand guiding him through the unfamiliar settings. Knowing her room excited him a little for more than one reason. One being sleep, two being curiosity, and third was his mind sort of wondering somewhere it shouldn't. He closed his eyes trying to push away the wrong thought as she guided him to the library. He wasn't quite wanting to go there right now, but he merely smiled and went with her. He stood in one place awaiting the light, then when it did come he looked around taking the lamp from her as she handed it to him. "Well...I'm sure we could find one book..if not there's always Halifax.." He whispered with a slight laugh. He looked through the columns his eyes looking for anything that looked like it was on the subject, unaware that he would be looking for a book on astronomy, but sooner or later he'd find it. He was totally clueless on where to start, his lids were growing heavy and he looked back to his female companion, "...you know..I wonder if we should start this another day...books usually don't have clear cut titles like 'Stars' or anything like that..I mean, what did humans call all that space anyway? I'm sure they had to make it complicated like how they have so many names for everything else. I mean look at what they did to the dog.." He laughed lightly still making sure to keep his voice down which for Aro was quite a challenge as he wasn't a quiet canine to say the least.

LOL I'd love it! What ya' think? Also, sorry for the shortness... As much as he'd love to continue being up with her, he really needed sleep if he was going to take the long hike back home he'd need his rest. He was relieved when she mentioned she too was tired. Allowing her to take the light he followed her back fighting to keep his eyes opened. He remained quiet knowing that it was late and here they were sneaking about. He didn't really know who all was here, did she have siblings? They entered the room and the lantern lit their path, the room wasn't much really and but it was a room. His eyes looked up at her as his brows creased together, "I wouldn't dare sleep have you sleep on the floor. That would be rude of me to make a lady sleep on the floor." He almost looked upset, well, perhaps he was upset about it, but really, what kind of man would that make him if he made women sleep on the floor while he was comfortable on the bed. Walking over to where two walls met he moved to a seated position and leaned his back against the two walls and let out a yawn, "I will gladly sleep right here.." His sky blue eyes looked at her darkened crimson eyes with a warm smile, "No lady will go uncomfortable while I'm around.." He laughed a little forgetting for a moment to be quiet. |
