Heavy Eyes

Honey my deeeear! <3 *rubs eyes awake* im back! Set at about late afternoon, raining in the veiled gardens.

It was going to rain soon. Siku could smell it. Imagining herself to look pretty miserable looking, the white faced Dahlian set to pulling weeds in the garden her best friend had discovered months before. It had been too long since she worked, and the golden eyed she-wolf was well aware of this. It actually bothered her quite a bit. Too shy to show her face after so long in seclusion, Siku was determined to make herself somewhat useful before trying to go to Nayru again. There was still much to do, that was for sure. As the optime formed she-wolf knelt in the chaotic garden, she pulled the weeds with swift and sure movements. Almost angrily. 'Stupid weeds..'

Spending a good amount of the afternoon clearing away the invasive plants, Siku wished for a rake or something similar to grind up the soil. As she worked, she thought about her small family. Saul, who she had scarcely seen since their last encounter within the walls she now worked in. They spoke of a few things on their minds, and both were relieved for the talk, but Siku missed the wolf since. He brought her food when she didn't hunt, and they still slept together, but to the white woman's dismay they rarely had time together anymore. This brought her thoughts to little Wretch, and Siku sighed as she tore another plant out roughly. She had yet to make much of a relationship with the young girl, who seemed to enjoy being alone more than the Spaher's company. Wretch was attached to Saul, that was for sure. Yet for some reason she chose not to speak to Siku much. This was all right with her, as long as Wretch was happy.

Stopping to glance up at the sky, Siku blinked a few times as a drop of water hit the tip of her nose. The rain was different here. Siku enjoyed it, though usually from the warm and dry confines of the cabin. Pausing to take a break, the slender she-wolf set down the limp weed in her hand and laid back. Her long whiteish blond hair was tied back, something the woman had begun to do only recently. She had never thought to restrain the annoying locks of fur, only doing so when she started working with plants. It made it so much easier, though Siku sometimes felt a little foolish with it all back in one tail. Golden eyes closed as the rain fell gradually more and more, and Siku crossed her arms behind her head as she relaxed for the first time that day. Her chest rising and falling slowly, Siku slowed her breathing and attempted to meditate. Though no one taught her, the woman learned to fall into conscience mental states of rest when she was alone. It calmed her when she worried; which she did a lot. A soft sigh escaped her lips as she fully relaxed, the rain pelting her face. She did not care. Only wished for the company she knew she would not seek out.

apologies! had my english exam today, so was a bit preoccupied this weekend! <33

The sky was beginning to darken and the male wasnt even close to being done with his day. He knew he had a lot of work to do over the summer, not only within his own medical field but within the whole of Dahlia. And he'd begun to mark out where he wanted the stables he'd planned to go. The harbour was to be rebuilt, the supports for the grapevines rebuilt and a lot of the houses fixed too. Although Saul was not a expert in the matter, he was fast becoming accustomed to what needed to be done. Combining the building of his own house with the intricate wood carving he had learned from Shawchert all that time ago, Saul was fast become a novice carpenter/house builder. He needed more practise and he was going to get it over the summer. And now they had Adrien, guardian of the puppy Iliya who had travelled from Cercatori to Dahlia. They would be useful, that was for sure. But right now, the male was determined to collect some more marigold plants for their antiseptic and pain relieving properties. He had used the flower heavily on Wretch and she had responded well to it.

A drop of rain splashed on his nose and the agouti male gave an inward sigh. He didnt want to collect the yellow plants while they were wet, but he didnt have a choice now. He was more than halfway to the walled garden he had discovered not long ago. He could smell Siku around here, but he wasnt sure how old the scent was. Although they shared a house and, at nights, shared a bed, they hadnt spoken properly in a while. Not since Conor had properly left and they'd spoken in the very garden he was heading to. It didnt take him too long to reach it and he wriggled quickly under the hole in the fence they used for a door. They still needed to removed the overgrown plants around the door to make it useable.

Her scent was stronger and Saul allowed the now-familiar butterflies to flap in his stomach. He wasnt ever used to the feeling that Siku insued in him, but it was becoming more familair. And he saw her on the ground, arms tucked behind her head and body outstretched. He gave a wicked chuckle, launching himself forward as the rain came tumbling down. He covered her body with his, tucking her legs under his own and covering her head with his hands. He laughed deeply, planting a large and soppy kiss on his friends cheek.

"Dont worry Siku, I'll keep you dry from the rain!"

He growled, teasingly tugging on her ear as he pulled back to look into her golden eyes. It was at that moment that he really understood how much he'd missed his best friend and planted another kiss on her nose to illustrate the point.

Siku could sense when he was close, as she always did. First his scent filled her nose and the sound of his paws on the ground notified her, and then the light fluttering in her chest alerted her. Saul! Saul! Saul! Her heart seemed to whisper, beating rapidly as he jumped on her. Smothered by her favorite person in the world, Siku giggled as the earthen wolf kissed her wetly. The rain began to soak their fur, but Siku only noticed the deep rumble of Saul's laugh and the joy she felt just by hearing his voice. Nipping his ear in return, Siku grinned and was about to say something witty about the pouring rain- but as their eyes met, the petite woman's word were forgotten on her lips. His fur longer than she last remembered, the locks of hair curled and fell in her face as the rain weighed them down. His green eyes sparkled, and Siku's grin faded to a shy smile.

Siku's ears flattened against her head as the rain continued to drench them, and she closed her eyes as Saul kissed her once more. I missed you, his eyes seemed to say. Siku hoped he could see in her eyes, that she missed him just as much. Her hands moved to cup his face in her hands, and Siku smiled again. Reluctant to break the silence, she simply touched his nose with hers and closed her eyes again.

He thought it had been an innocent joke. Well actually, it was a simple joke, and a semi serious attempt to cover her up before she caught a chill. He grinned down at her, watching as her own smile spread across her lips. He'd missed her, he really had. He hadnt spoke to her in a long time despite their shared quarters and it was just a little strange. But she was here now. He could feel her body beneath him and he tried to keep his weight off of her, holding himself on his toes so he didnt squash her petite form. He glanced down for the moment, before he looked back up and caught her eye. Her expression had changed, her eyes had gained more depth and her smile had turned shy. They screamed at him and Saul's own eyes reflected what her gold ones were telling him. I missed you too.

The rain thundered around them and Saul remained on top of her. He was comfortable here, with her soft form beneath him. And for the moment, something came over him. Green eyes darkened, almost smoldered as he kept the eye contact steady. He didnt know what happened, but as he looked into her eyes, an impulse came over him. Heart hammering in his chest, the agouti male lowered his lips. He and Siku kissed each other constantly- a lick on the nose or the cheek to express their delight at seeing her. But as he moved his lips downwards, there was no doubt in his mind that this was a kiss kiss. His own lips caught hers and he kissed her properly, with no hint of the friendship that had been a steady for them both over the past months. This was pure passion and the male had no idea where it was coming from.
