The caravan building had started to stuck the life out of Evelyn; at every waking moment she was thinking about what happened so far in the construction of project that the she and three others were working on. It was still in its baby steps, but so far it was going smoothly. Though some of the work had made her weary, the hype of creating such a marvel had yet to buzz off. And since the store she had claimed as her home in Thornbury had moved to the final stages of its reconstruction, at least for the moment, and she still had yet to recover muse for making things besides to caravan, she felt compelled to leave Cercatori territory for the first time. The wolfdog had indeed stepped a few paces outside of the pack’s lands, it wasn’t much ever since she was accepted into the artistic pack. She hadn’t felt a dire need for exploration, nor at this moment as well, but boredom had consumed her mind and she wanted to shake it off. Perhaps a stroll in the unclaimed worlds of Nova Scotia she had briefly seen could cure it.

The young she had exited the borders, after making sure that nothing too threating besides a chirping bird was nearby, where the forest was dense, and as she delved deeper into the forest, the ground became cooler, moist, from no disturbance than maybe the fleeting scuttle of a rodent’s small paws. Evelyn had never seen trees this tightly knit as she glanced upwards; the place of her birth had trees and quite a good number of them, but never this threaded together like dusty tapestry. The leaves bore no signs of letting the moonlight touch the ground, blocking the rays with its thick wall of green. Creatures, though some couldn’t see the moon, knew that it was well into the night, and most have bunkered down besides the ones who played in the dark. Hooting owls and croaking frogs in the nearby streams filled the peaceful yet eerie silence, but Evelyn felt no fear in her heart as she continued to walk further from the borders, almost intangible unless blow towards her from a wayward breeze.

This night was fairly cooler, but it was relieving to the hybrid’s warm, dark fur from being out in the sun most of the day; repairing the roof on her house wasn’t as fun at it seemed, and she did get a little dehydrated, even if she was doing this work in the late afternoon when the sun wasn’t at its hottest. Nonetheless, the slight chill in the air nearly felt like the air where she was born, and it was during this month she spent her first month of life, and this nearly felt nostalgic for Evelyn. But it also made her slightly sad as it occurred to her she didn’t spend her first year with her family, nor did she even celebrate it. It passed like every other day, and it wasn’t until now that it even came to mind; for a moment, she panicked, sorry for herself that she didn’t think about her own birthday, and paused in her leisure stroll, staring out into space with her eyes flashing with worry. But it went away as soon as it came, and she steeled herself and continued to walk deeper into the woods, but also minding what distance she was putting herself and d’Arte’s territory. Evelyn hadn’t forgotten the words about the murder that sprung up the pack, and she had heard as well that some here weren’t as friendly as the Cercartori’s members.
