No one knew the true story of how Jacquez Trouillefou lost his arm, but there were rumors aplenty. Some said it had been wrenched off in a fight against a fearsome opponent; others believed he had chewed through his own limb in order to prove that he was impervious to pain. In any case, the many rumors served to bolster his own sense of deluded grandieur. One-armed or not, he was surely a mighty king...

Dark eyes glittering with amusement at the world, Jacquez stood with his footpaws planted firmly on the sandy coastline, good arm resting on his hip as he scanned the new horizon. His thick mane of dark hair was tied loosely behind him, fringed ears folded neatly atop. His heritage was as murky as the tales of his origins; he had the lean muzzle of a collie, the broad build of a shepherd, the rich colours of a setter, the sharp claws and fangs of a terrier, and the heart of a lion. The cool breezes whipped through his tawny coat, the sun flashing on the multitude of hues - rich gold, terracotta red, dark brown, light cream, and on his muscular right arm, snowy white.

Tipping back his muzzle without warning, he barked a laugh, wicked grin curling onto his black lips. "This is where we stay! Long have we been homeless, the unwanted, the dregs of society. Here we will have a home! Here we will have each other! Long live the king!" His roaring voice echoed on the cliffs before him, fading into nothing. He had hoped for a rallying cheer of approval, but since his boat had been wrecked on the coastline days earlier, his followers were scattered. He himself had washed up further south, and had been walking since, his shaggy fur rimed with salt, throat parched and dry from dehydration. He still had not seen any of the rangy mutts that had left their homeland together... Quel infortune. But the job fell to him to round them up, his mongrels and mutts, his royal worms. He liked these cliffs. He would bring his strays here to stay. Sneering at the seagulls startled into flight, the king of strays began his journey into the Shattered Coast.

The generally cold hearted woman had become restless since the arrival of Ruri and often found herself far from their home inland from the shattered coast. Today was no exception as she'd believed that she'd been able to sneak out of te area without sounding an alert. She had realized that the others had seemingly been keeping a watch over her since she'd joined them, alone without her children. Yes, she still regretted leaving them behind with the pack but there was no other choice. The figures who could be so gentle and kind turned into monsters in their mob. They would care and protect the two boys, all she could offer them was the love she felt for them and sometimes that wasn't enough.

She'd moved along the beach, not minding any attention to the cries of the gulls or the scents on the air. Firefly had seen too many things change in such a brief time that she didn't know what to think anymore, nor did she really want to. It felt right to be free from the way of the pack but she still craved the attention, she craved to be known and respected, for everything she was, not just what one figure deemed worthy. Maybe Svara had the right idea of forming their own pack... It was an idea.

Firefly lifted her head finally as the annoying bawling of the gulls above, but it wasn't the gulls that ultimately caught her attention, but the figure silhouetted up ahead, the sun causing a brilliant dazzle over her orbs at the reflection of the sun against the water. Casting her eyes away she shook her head and tried to catch a view of the sight one more time, almost believing it to be a mirage, if she didn't know any better. She blinked and tried to shake the image from her mind but when those orbs opened one more time he was still there. For once the woman was at a loss for words.

OoC: Not worried about posting order until everybody's here. Firefly could bring him back to the cabin...? Or the blind bats could hear him shouting and come check it out. ^-^

The hot sand shifted beneath his footpaws, and he scowled at it, kicking at the dirt. Normally beaches and seas were his home turf, but he had underestimated how weakened his body would become if he did not stop to eat or drink. The egotistical dog did not like to be alone; it was no fun to be a king without any subjects. Where were his admirers? Where were his lackeys? Had they all drowned during the storm...? He had not found any corpses, so he stubbornly refused to acknowledge the possibility. He distinctly remembered holding Ruri above the water; she, at least, should be alive somewhere around here...

Seagulls wheeled in the sky above him, crying with harsh anticipation. "Non, my ugly birds, you will not dine on king tonight," he growled, dark eyes scanning the sheer cliffs rising before him. Eggs would be a tasty treat, but reaching them with one arm would be a different matter. All of his climbing ropes were floating away somewhere, he scowled bitterly, his moods flitting capriciously by. The foreign canine would no doubt have regressed to a royal tantrum had his searching gaze not settled on a lonely figure nearby, feminine curves highlighted by the brilliant sunlight. He tilted his head curiously, cliffs forgotten. She looked familiar... but it was too far to tell for sure.

"Ahoooyyy!" Jacquez bellowed abruptly, loud voice only slightly hoarse from thirst. The seabirds scattered again as his roar echoed from the rocks. He raised his white-furred hand to shield his eyes from the glare, squinting at the stranger again. She really did look familiar, but not like a dog... Had she been one of the wolves he'd met back home? They did tend to pass through frequently, but none of them ever stayed. He was fairly certain that one of Ruri's parents had been one of those travelling wolves, but that had never really concerned him. He had heard tales of this land up north, home to more wolves than dogs, and curiosity had finally gotten the better of him. Were the prick-ears really as militaristic as he had been led to believe? The lazy dog stood proudly, waiting for her to approach. He had a terrible memory for names. Hopefully she would introduce herself when she got closer.

(He makes me want to laugh.. and I can imagine his accent as the fat chef from Ratatouille. Big Grin)

Her mood really was getting the best of her today if it was causing her to see long lost friends. After losing her mate and children of course it had to be the image of the first male she'd ever had a crush on that appeared in the brilliant glare of the sun. The woman muttered to herself in disbelief, "Cad é sin!" reverting back to the Gaelic that she'd left behind so long ago. She really was a mess without structure in her life. She had been about to turn away when the winds carried the words on the breeze her way.

She might not have been able to recognize the male from the distance she was standing but the scent as well as the voice could belong to none other than the old rascal of a sea dog she'd trailed after onship so long ago. She stumbled once as she began to subtract the distance between then, a tearful laughter caught in her throat, a sound that anyone who had known the woman in these lands would never have been able to imagine. "Jac!" She called out as the golden bronze woman closed the gap quickly as she threw her arms around the male and laughed.

OoC: Now that's how I hear it too! xD He's not allowed to cook now.

A pleased rumble purred from his throat, as his good arm caught her around the waist, the joyful energy evaporating his previous bad mood. This was how things were supposed to be - beautiful women throwing themselves at him on sight. He surely was a handsome devil. The glint of her golden-fire fur, the spicy aroma of this wolf, the clipped nickname she gave him... the memory finally resurfaced. "Ahh, it has been a long time, hasn't it...? Is this where your ship brought you? Have you settled here, petite soleil?" "Little Sun"... her real name had something to do with fires, suns, light... It was not his habit to hold onto names for so long, though, despite the bold impression she had left on him so long ago. He had been disappointed, when the she-wolf had not chosen to stay.

His dark eyes glittered, so close to her laughing emerald gaze. "You no longer smell of those men," he commented, tilting his head lightly as his folded ears flopped. "But you are not alone..." The collie-dog let his arm slip from the embrace, toying instead with a coppery strand of her mane. So quickly he forgot his problems, faced with a beautiful Irish flower such as this. The roguish smile he sported had not changed over the years, nor had his tail-chasing attitude.

Still waters run deep

ooc: Yay for thread crashing!!!

Ruri was wandering around the cabin, as was her habit these days. Her eyes had not been dry at all today in particular. She had been awake all night with her nightmares. No matter how much she had tried to stop crying, the tears just kept coming. The fragile femme looked absolutely exhausted, despite the fact that she did her best to keep herself well groomed so that she would look presentable when they found Jac. The short mongrel girl was almost back to the cabin when her sensitive ears perked. Spinning around in the direction of the sound, the blind girl tried to focus her thoughts on analyzing what she had just heard. "That sounded like Jac's voice..." she trailed off, her hand coming to wipe the tears from her ivory muzzle as she started off in the direction of the sound, albeit slowly.

Once she had reached the boundary of her memorized area, which had grown since she had begun to venture further from the cabin. Still, it would be impossible for her to have memorized the area of the entire shattered coast. As such, she decided to shift down to her quadruped form. This took a few moments, but once the tiny femme had reverted to her lupus form, she continued walking towards the sound. She wasn't sure whether she had actually heard Jac's voice or not, but she was desperate to find her best friend and if there was even a slight chance of her finding him, she was going for it. As she drew nearer to the origin of the sound she came to an area that she couldn't maneuver through. It was a rocky hillside near the beach that was far too unstable for her to feel her way down. However, she heard voices off in the distance, talking with one another. She had heard the telltale 'Ahoooy' shout a few moments before she had crested the top of this hill, but she still wasn't sure if it was Jac's voice or not. So, the blind dog began pacing back and forth, her ears tuned to the voices in the distance. The tears kept trickling down her face as her depression took over her once more. Out of desperation, she did something she only remembered doing once before in her life. Right after her mother had abandoned her she had learned how to howl. The small amount of wolf genes in her must have given Ruri the ability to howl quite well, although she rarely felt the need to do so. "Jac!! Jacquez where are you?!! Is that you out there?!!" She howled, her voice crying in a high-pitched, mournful tone. She was completely at her wits end. If that wasn't Jac in the distance, then she'd surely sound like a fool, but at this point she didn't care.

Life was hard. Everyone had to learn that at some point, even those of good fortune. You had to work and work to get where you needed to go and finally you could be there. Svara sat down on the cliff side. Although it wasn't high she loved she look down at the ocean below. Her sight wasn't great, but it had improved enough to only be slightly blurred. The sound was what she came here for. Every wave crashed in with a roar and it continued as the birds cried around the shore. After working all day she came here. Everyone was in good health and her herbs had been replenished so now she sat alone.

Only a few days ago she had met Cwmfen again. The sable female had thought it would all be better now that she wasn't part of the pack. She would make her own over time, with Firefly and most likely Leroy at her side. It wasn't power the red she wolf seeked, only comfort and home. It was the sight and sound of movement on the beach that made her head quickly turn, the high pony tail moving with her motion. The figure wasn't easy to see from so far away, but Svara had heard the deep voice echo across the cliffs and knew it was male.

Getting to her feet she narrowed her eyes. Who was the male she saw? His scent was blocked by the oceans strength so she would have to move down the cliff to confront him. Going down the back she lost sight of the stranger as she moved down back into the woods and then around to the beaches sands. The sight of firefly with the male was odd to the red she wolf, but the sounds of Ruri's howl made her stop. She wanted to move forwards and meet the male, but her duty was to the blind girl first so she turned back and went for her.

It wasn't hard to find the blind girl. She was behind the down side of the cliff and some trees. "Ruri it's me Svara I'm going to help you this one time, but next time you do something this stupid I'm leaving your ass okay?" Grabbing the girls arm she drug her along next to her leading her to where she was sure she was going, and now Svara knew who the male was on the beach. Jacquez, the male that Ruri had spoke about when she first arrived. Pulling the blind girl behind her back onto the beach it only took her a few moments to get her to firefly and the male and dropped the girls arm as if it was on fire. Svara wasn't one to do nice things willingly, it was amazing that she was a healer. Diveriting her attention to the male she gave him a nasty little smirk. Another pain in the ass I predict?" Her devilish smirk didn't leave her face and her yellow eyes didn't stop being sharp and calculating. This was her family and Svara wasn't about to let some new comer threaten it, not that she held a grudge, she was just cautious.

She hadn't thought about what she did, it would have been the way she would have acted before she'd set foot on these lands, before she'd played her tempting little games, but only aboard the ship had she been so careless with her emotions and didn't give a hoot what the others thought of her. When she felt Jac's embrace she rubbed her face against his chest, inhaling the scent of salt and the hide of the long lost friend. When he brought the ol' nickname back into play she wrinkled her nose and laughed. "I was abandoned here, dragged back to a life I was born into.." She really would have rather sailed with him any day but she had made a promise and she didn't break her promises.

Those dark orbs that seemed to look so deep into her soul nearly hypnotized her as he spoke, the soft accent of his words so familiar to her ears, like being home again. She flicked her bejeweled ears back as he spoke of her past games and the way she use to tease the boys. She smiled sadly and admitted. "Yes, it's been a while." She hadn't felt the need to be with another in a long time, having believed that she she'd left Haku she'd left her match.. but perhaps she had been wrong all along, perhaps she'd never needed a man, just the comforts they gave.

His fingers intertwined in her curly locks as she smiled, "Have I ever been alone?" she teased, her eyes dancing as she began to ask, "Jacq.." but she never got that far before a howl broke out, only being able to belong to one other. She turned towards the sound for a second before returning her gaze to Jacquez. "I think there's someone else.." her words trailing of a moment as she pulled herself away from his grasp. "Who misses you.." She smiled a second time and ran a hand through her hair as within moments the two were interupted by the appearance of the blind pair.

The words of Svara hit her as a smirk seemed to play across her lips. She shook her head in slight annoyance at the words of the other woman as she grinned. "No, this one is the one we've been looking for." Not that they wouldn't have minded any other crew members appearing from the wash of the ocean's waves, but she would have only welcomed Jacquez so merrily. She turned back to Jac as she smiled. "We found Ruri about a week ago.." obviously he could tell that they'd found her, she was right there before him now.

OoC: Is that the order we want? Me, Shadow, Syd, Shannon? Smile A lot of "S"s, lol.

He chuckled as the woman nestled against his chest, her wet nose tickling him. "That is a pity," he added, raising his auburn face to the warm sunlight. "They should not have abandoned a jewel such as yourself." His light accent played with his words, his eyes studying her appraisingly. It was a true bit of luck for him to have wandered here into her arms. If he were to gather followers as he had planned, starting a settlement on this foreign shore, then he would be happy to have her at his side again - one of the few wayward wolves he had grown attached to.

His folded ears twitched at the plaintive howl, surprised by the strength of the little dog's voice, but recognizing her immediately. He squinted in that direction, trying to spot a flash of slate-grey fur as Firefly discretely slipped away from his hard-muscled frame. "Does she miss me? Poor thing, I'm glad you picked her up when you did. She hates being by her lonesome, almost as much as I do..." A rare hint of concern flickered in his voice, extinguished in a moment. His tiny sidekick had always been his weakness. They held no blood relation, but they might as well be siblings.

The lean canine set his hand on his hip, sizing up the pair that arrived. He had expected Ruri by herself, but this other female must be Firefly's partner, the reason she was not alone on the sparse beach. He raised an eyebrow at the yellow-eyed wolf's comment, disapproving that she had handled lupus Ruri so roughly. But he still dropped to one knee, a happy smile wreathing the self-proclaimed king's noble muzzle. "C'est moi, Ruri ma cherie. There is no need for tears. Have you no faith in your king? No ocean could claim my soul for long." His proud plumed tail waved a slow beat behind him, relieved that at least one of his motley crew had survived for certain. He would continue his search tomorrow for others. "You have been looking for me, ladies?" he asked with amusement, glancing from Firefly to Svara's faces. "That is very sweet - and now your prayers have been answered..."

ooc: I like that order. Yay Ruri isn't depressed anymore. She can resume her duties as being Jacquez's faithful sidekick.

Ruri was surprised when Svara came up to her and grabbed her. The gruff female immediately explained what she was doing and her feathery furred tail wagged in anticipation. "Thank you, Svara," she muttered as the healer continued to pull her along by her forelimb. It wasn't very long until they stopped and Svara let go of her leg. Then, it hit her. First came the scent of the salt air, and then the familiar scent of her good friend Jacquez. She couldn't help but start crying all over again, even though Jac told her that there was no need for her to do so. "I missed you, Jac," she sobbed, taking a few steps forward until she was leaning into him gently. "Don't ever leave me again, okay?" She pleaded, although she knew that he had not intended for them to be separated for so long. The tiny, fragile lupus continued to cry joyfully, nuzzling her friend and king. Since Jacquez had raised Ruri she had grown up believing that he was the king he said he was. It made complete sense to her, when he had his noble moments. However, the few moments she had caught him with a woman, drunk as a skunk, or both, had taught her that even kings weren't entirely perfect.

The tiny dog felt no need to speak, at least not now. She was too busy absorbing the fact that Jacquez was back and she didn’t have to worry anymore. That was all she needed to know. Her blue eyes wandered aimlessly as she continued to nuzzle the mongrel king. She would do so until he pulled away. The fragile girl hadn’t seen him in days, and she felt the need to shower him with affection.

Svara watched the male. Jacquez seemed strong and from the way the girl was holding onto him, compassionate. His words made a chuckle escape Svara's maw. "I don't think I have but she hasn't stop talking about you since day one." She pointed to the blind female. The red she wolf had to admit his scent was strong and she was liking it more than she usually liked others scents. It was like an ocean scent, musky. Shaking her head the crimson women crossed her arms over her chest.

Looking at firefly she wondered what the women was thinking, of course she was probably annoyed with her and the response she had given the male she seemed affectionate with. Sighing she chose to act some what civial for her firends sake. "It's good to meet you Jacquez I'm Svara." She would have reached her hand out for a shake, but the leech of a blind girl was in the way, so she thought better not to.

Things have been alot better since Leroy had moved in with Svara, though Firefly had moved in as while which wasn't a bother though the odd girl was with him now. A yawn escaped his chest as one hand rubbed the back of his head, his hair had gotten a great bit longer and it now hung in his eyes. Grumbling the patterned male pushed the hair back as his mind was already set on plans to cut it down to its original spiky height. Smirking to himself his red eyes watched as his nose followed the familiar scents of his family, of his mate as he was in now rush. Tail swayed behind Leroy as his mind only thought about building the new house for them all, a large house with enough room for everyone plus he needed to go hunting soon. Voices perked his ears, Svara's lovely voice was there but there was some he didn't know. With a steady stride his feet soon pressed in the sand as he headed straight for Svara's side, his ruby eyes glanced at every face that was there. Firefly was there and it seemed she knew the male, Leroy didn't know him so he quickly paid no attention as looked back at Svara. "What things are happening this day my love?" His hard husky tone would have seemed mean to anyone else but Svara knew him as his slipped to her where he stopped as his hand rubbed her back. Looking back at Firefly he nodded with a hello. "A Reunion Firefly?" His voice was curious as it rumbled his chest.

She smacked her palm against his chest as he teased and toyed with her, the colorful words he always used falling from the tip of his tongue so quickly as she smiled. "Treasures can hold curses and many unexpected dangers I've heard." She glanced up at those eyes that seemed to dance in amusement at her being there. She didn't know what the male's plans were now that his ship was gone but Ruri had been staying with them, would the slate girl leave the small band for her leader, or would he join them as well.. whatever the answer was she hoped she would see more of the flirty male again.

Having slipped from his side she watched as Ruri made her way between the lot of them and leaned almost hopelessly against Jacquez's side. A soft smile lingered on her lips as she answered. "I think that she does." She shook her head at his thanks as she laughed. "It's not like we have a pack that has to worry about us housing strangers. It's just our small band, she fit in right well." She gave Jac a wink, knowing that the girl was so well minded that there was almost no way she would have not been able to fit into their little family.

She was slightly amused at the show that Jacquez was giving to Svara when she showed, her eyes examining the gathering as it grew and grew. She had been about to reply to Jacquez's words when low and behold one more joined their ranks, the other body in their band. His question seemed directed to her instead of Svara and she just shrugged and admitted. "You could say that. Leroy, this is Jacquez.." She glanced to Jacquez, almost wishing that the others hadn't appeared so quickly, but there was nothing she could do about it now.

Ruri snuggled against his lean chest, and Jacquez sighed good-naturedly, ruffling her ears. "You know, cherie, that it was not my fault. I came as quickly as I could find you." He frowned helplessly as the waterworks continued, the blind girl sobbing into his tawny fur. "You are my eyes and ears! I can not see without you," he added softly, a personal joke. Despite being born without sight, Ruri's naive honesty always made moral decisions easier for the deluded king. She kept him from being a true rogue. Gently he eased himself from her needy embrace, promising himself to spend the day with her after the introductions were complete.

Whilst he had been preoccupied, Svara had been joined by a male, another resident of the ever-smaller cabin. "Enchanté, mademoiselle Svara," he replied, dark eyes lingering on her scars, on her defiant stance. He then flashed a wicked grin - the lanky red wolf had the air of a rebel, just the way he liked them. And she was a brash young lass, much like her golden-fire mentor had been back in the day. "Hrah! And big bad Leroy, is it? We have a dog in our midst! Well met, monsieur, well met." He swept his one arm into a flourishing bow, acknowledging the husky's presence. The ratio was fairly even, then, wolves to dogs... At least, in their little corner of the world. That was good. "Are there any other members of your little party? Or have I met the whole family?"

The charismatic collie-dog brought his dark gaze back to Firefly, whom he assumed was the leader of their band of misfits. "I did come here with an intention, oh trésor dangereux. Had Ruri and I not misplaced all of our companions, we had intended to claim a settlement. Our previous home had become less than homely; a new start for a new kingdom sounded more and more appealing...!" Without his eager mongrels behind him, without his ship or supplies, his conquest had come to a grinding halt. Now, though, things were starting to look up... Not every wolf enjoyed their strict pack structure, it seemed. His clever mind raced ahead, trying to plot and plan a new stratagem. There were sure to be other groups of loners, of wolves and dogs and who-knows-what lurking about. Every society had outcasts, had those that refused to conform to rules. He could start a new band, one that lit bonfires on the beach and yelled at seagulls and had a grand ol' time without being bossed around. Yes, he liked this new idea. His black lips curved into a smile, a glinting, dangerous smile. This was an idea fit for a king.

Ruri couldn't help but laugh when Jac made his joke. He always knew exactly what to say to make her feel better, although at this point in time she wasn't actually crying because she felt badly. Her half-folded collie ears perked as Jac moved away from her for a moment to greet Svara and now Leroy. She had heard the other male coming, but had been to involved with Jac to acknowledge his arrival until just now. Reclining to her haunches behind Jac, the slate and ivory border collie-dog contented herself with remaining in her lupus form for now. When Jac was done introducing himself and was ready to give her some more of his attention, she would shift back into her more comfortable optime form. Her pale blue opts wandered in the general direction of her companions as she listened to Jacquez describe his plan. Now that he was here, were they going to claim their new kingdom? Her feathery-furred tail swished behind her eagerly. That had been the entire reason they had travelled this far north. It would be wonderful to finally have a home territory once more, although she honestly hadn't explored much of the last one. In truth she rarely ever left Jac's side, unless he left her in the company of another friend. The tiny girl wasn't going to leave Jac alone for a second now that he was back; that is unless he ordered her to do so. Even though he was practically her older brother, he was still her leader and she would readily comply to his orders, no matter how much she might not like them. So, the fragile girl sat quietly and listened to the ongoing conversation. In perfect honesty, she felt genuinely tired now that she had found Jacquez. Perhaps now she would be able to get some sleep. Shaking her head, the female did her best to stay awake. She couldn't fall asleep now, not so soon after Jac had returned.

Svara watched them. The girl Ruri held onto this man as if he was her raft in darkness, but the healer could see the exahustion. She was about to tell her something, but the sound of her mates voice made her stop and turn to look at Leroy's face. A genuine smile curled onto her face. If there was anyone she wanted to see it was him. His rough words made her laugh softly, no nasty remark following her girlish laughter. "It seems we've found an old friend of Firefly's, and most likely a new member to our band." Svara said her yellow eyes watching the new male with curiosity.

Leroy's hand on her back was what kept the smile on her face. She didn't even know she was doing it, he had that ability when it came to her. Jacquez words made her ears swivel and her mind processed. She looked at the former acer and wondered if she still thought about the proposal Svara had given her only days after they had left Dahlia. Yellow orbs went to the male again. "This is the whole lot of us, but if you plan on making grounds here we'll need more space, what we have at the moment can't fit anymore then what we have." The red she wolfs voice was stern.

Moving forwards she crossed her arms over her ample chest and the smile had left her face. Now standing relatively close to the male she regarded him with the same hostility almost everyone had gotten from her once in their lives. "What makes you think you can make a pack so easily?" The red she wolf was testing him, seeing where his strength was. The last thing Svara wanted to meet was a coward. Her good eye went to his missing limb. "Already your off to a bad start it seems." Her gaze met his again, waiting.

Leroy's body stood still next to his mate as he scanned everyone with his red eyes, his large black ears listened to the words in the air as they turned about. Leroy in general was looking for Svara but it seemed that he found more then he had intended, it didn't bother him at the lest as he instantly noted details bout the wolf dog. Leroy could an was a vocal person when he was relaxed but he really didn't feel like speaking in that current second, Jacquez appeared to be of high spirits with a very loud mouth. Some of the words he used where different but the patterned male didn't care, but merely ignored the mass of words to take in the simple blunt terms. 'he crashed and talks a lot an knows the young kid..great'

Looking at Svara her words meet his ears as he glanced back at the male and the other two for a moment, Firefly answered as well with his name. Jacquez. "friend uh, well it seems we just keep growing then don't we." His deep voice was husky with the slightest tug of a smile at Svara's giggle. The male's voice seemed to sing out happily as he spoke of the husky, Leroy's brows pushed together in a slightly annoyed manner. It felt odd for the stranger to call him 'big bad' though the patterned husky felt his tail twitch, his stare was hostile for a brief moment almost invisible. Leroy has grown annoyed with the word 'dog' even though he is one, but the term has been so sourly thrown at him it still makes his hair rise. "Yea I'm a dog." Pausing Leroy watched the bow gesture but he only nodded in return before speaking again. " Welcome to Souls' Jacquez.."

His deep voice rumbled his throat as he stood by his mate, the male was odd all right though he doesn't know the man he seems strange at the moment. Breathing in the beach air the words about making a pack didn't seem that long ago spoken an he was sure Svara remembers too, brushing his hair away from his face Leroy's red eyes watched a his ears listen to Svara test the male. A small smirk pull across his lips as a small bit of tooth poked out.

Firefly stood there quietly as the reunion seemed to finally reach it's maximum potential, then the questions began to fire. She watched as Ruri seemed to curl up like a little content puppy beside Jacquez as everyone started to update eachother on just what had happened, what was too happen and where this was all going from here. Firefly just shook her head at the sudden stir of chaos and smiled darkly. Her gears beginning to churn, to combine the ideas of both parties.

When the question of anymore to come hit her ears and the answer that Svara replied with she shook her head and chuckled. "Well it depends Jac, are we talking about anymore living with us, or anymore who just might show up.." She shook Svara a look as she grinned. "There's possibly a few more in the woodwork, but Svara's tongue seems to drive fear in the hearts of men.. I don't think they'd show today to see what the tide brought in." She shrugged before crossing her arms and leaaning heavily on one side, her hip jutting out as she thought about the few strangers she'd met recently who weren't quite sure they belonged within any of the packs around.

He went on them, explaining to Firefly and the lot that he had plans of settling in with the crew until they'd become shipwrecked. Firefly smirked and raised a brow at Jacquez. "Did our stories of the lands strike an interest in you, or were you more interested in the delicate blossoms the territory might stir up?" She could remember quite well the way Jac was with his rum and woman. She wasn't for certain if he could remember it all but she could recall some pretty wild adventures the male seemed to take, his handicap not even seeming to slow him down at all. Her emerald eyes watched the man as amusement crossed her face at the thoughts of the past.

Her ears were suddenly perked up as Svara took the floor and seemed to pelt a million questions at Jacquez. She grinned, almost not feeling sorry for the man, but knowing if there was anyone who could take Svara's nature with a lighthearted approach it was Jac. She flicked her eyes to the female and back to Jacquez as she spoke up. "I don't know Svara, between Jac and you it seems like you both could make a whole." She never really had teased the girl about her eyesight before but if she was going to poke fun at Jac for his own injuries she'd point out the obvious to the girl. "Weren't you yourself just talking not long ago about how we oughta start our own pack.. Others might see your own injuries as a weakness too.." She didn't see weakness in either of the characters but if they wanted to pick eachother apart she'd go ahead and stop it here and now.

She flicked her tail back and forth as she smiled. "Then again, there's not a one of us here who doesn't have some sortof weakness or flaw that our old homes found fault in. Together I say we make one pretty damn fine pack..." She chuckled softly as she warned. "But, I could be considered a little crazy from time to time." She let her eyes settle on Jacquez as she asked. "Perhaps a whole horde of trésors dangereux is just what these lands need?" Maybe they all weren't dangerous, but she could believe that they were, given time they could be the worst thing out there, or the best.

The dazzling sunlight sparkling on the shifting seawater cast scintillating reflections on all of their faces, making glossy fur shine and colourful eyes gleam. It was all so poetic to the quirky male, feeling as though the sunny weather had followed him up the coast, granting him a reprieve from the fierce thunderstorm. He would change his tune come winter - he and Ruri both, for their feathery sheepdog fur did not have the warming qualities a thick wolf pelt held - but he was on cloud nine for now.

The one called Svara stepped challengingly nearer, glaring at him with her damaged eyes. She could see through her scars, then, if she could see his missing arm - she was better off than his Ruri, but she surely relied on the help of her intimate husky friend. Jacquez pursed his lips, listening to her rough voice accuse him. "Oh, you mean this?" he lilted innocently, running his claws over the silvery knot of scar tissue that formed his left shoulder. "An old war wound. I won't fill your innocent ears with the gory details, but I will simply say, my arm cost them many lives, despite the odds against me..." He lied through his teeth, nudging Ruri not to call him out. He told a different story to everyone he met - he honestly couldn't remember what really transpired. What had he told Firefly, for that matter? Was it the alligator story, or had it been the heroic tale of him pulling it off to feed orphans? He flashed Firefly a devious smile, laughing out loud at her teasing retort. "Indeed, we can combine our losses into one or two functioning beings, eh? But to you, mademoiselle Svara, I have no weakness. It is easy to start a kingdom, when one is a king." His proud eyes held no joking light - he was serious. The man was royalty. Others existed to follow his lead.

"Perhaps it was the stories of the delicate blossoms," he murmured wickedly, licking his lips as he slipped back into his lascivious ways. "I have not had the pleasure of consorting with many wolves, you know. Your kind is proud and finicky, unlike the fun-loving dogs I am accustomed to." He winked at Leroy, assuming the rose-eyed canine had some lusty qualities of his own. There were some fundamental differences between the races, but all the lines were blurred, and he knew it. "I like the thought of a horde, jolie loupe, and it will not be difficult to find other malcontents such as yourselves. They are free to leave the woodwork and join me, and Svara is free to scare the men away with her tongue, as long as she leaves the women to mine." His metaphors were perhaps a touch confused, but he got the gist of it. He would sniff around for the mongrels he'd lost at sea, and gather any other canids that wanted in on the safety in numbers. "We have an entire coastline to fill, yes? Not everyone must inhabit your little maison of a house. There are the grottos, they will make suitable dens. Or we can sleep beneath the stars - it matters not. This can be the site of our haven from laws!"

Still waters run deep

Ruri continued to sit silently behind Jacquez, although it was hard for her to restrain herself when Jac told yet another story of how he had lost his arm. She had honestly lost count of the numerous stories he had told to others, but his nudge told her not to say anything and so she would not. Listening to the entire group speaking of how they would form their pack. Her one armed friend spoke of how their new kingdom would consist of the misfits and outcasts of this region, which sounded quite pleasant to her. Everyone deserved to belong somewhere and Jacquez was a gracious, albeit a bit of a scoundrel himself, ruler who would be a great leader for such a band of malcontents as he called them.

She was snapped from her thoughts by a single word Jacquez spoke. It was doubtful he had intended it to remind her of anything, but what he described as a haven from laws reminded her of her troubled friend, Haven Aatte. Leaning forward, the fragile dog nudged Jac on the leg, doing her best to interrupt politely. "Jacquez, I almost forgot. I know someone else who you need to meet. He's having a lot of trouble with himself and I told him that you would be able to help him. His name's Haven Aatte and he lives...somewhere nearby," she paused for a second as she tried to think of anything that might lead Jac to Haven. After all she did not know exactly where the troubled young male was hiding. Her mind locked on one memory in particular which sounded like a clue that would be just perfect for Jac. "I think he lives near a bar somewhere. When I first met him he had a bottle of rum with him. If you go find him, he'll probably share some of it with you," her friendly soprano voice had a mischievous hint to it. She knew that Jac probably hadn't had any form of liquor in quite some time. He was probably dying for some. After all, booze was one of his favorite things in life, next to women that is. Now that she had told Jac about Haven, she resumed her state of contented silence, sitting beside her beloved king.
