Hanna rummaged through the storage closet at the hospital just a few blocks from Mew's house. She had hated to leave the female, but the medic knew she had left her niece in capable hands with Conor. The violet eyed young man was proving adept at his chosen trade. She would not have left at all, even as skilled as her nephew's son was, however, had she not heard the news that had been given at the pack meeting a few days prior.

There was to be war in Dahlia once again.

Hanna had mainly stayed clear of the fighting during the first Dahlian War, healing and then getting herself out of the way. It appeared to her, though, that this time Hanna would be in the thick of it, fighting as well as tending to the injured. For who else would fight for herself and her child, if not the ebony woman herself? Certainly in the case of Désirée, no one would care to watch the bastard child of a traitor, as Haku had so blatantly stated it.

And Hanna would certainly not ask anyone. The only people she truly knew in the pack anymore were Mew, who had been mainly drifting in and out of consciousness; the Vitis' pups; Conor, who was her assistant, and would probably be out in the field with her helping patch people up; and then Haku himself, which would just be a stupid thought, as he had already voiced his opinion of the little blue merle puppy. Some of the other members might have been loosely known by the medic, mainly from pack meetings. But Cercelee and Slay... They were both gone, and Hanna could only hope it was by their own choice, or at least under their own power.

Susquehanna would have to find some other way to secure the safety of her daughter while she and Conor were out caring for those wounded by the tearing teeth and slashing claws of the Infernians.

She found herself worrying about Kaena at this particular junction of her thoughts. Sure, Inferni coyotes were supposed to be the enemies, but Hanna had built at least a basic friendship with the second in command. She hated the fact that this rapport could be smashed to the ground in one fell swoop. Although... Kaena had been slightly suspicious but no more hostile towards Hanna after her kinship with Haku had been revealed; perhaps all was not lost if the ebony woman could but prove she had not really chosen a side in the conflict.

For all she had her rump planted in Dahlia de Mai, she was still a neutral entity in her own mind.

Shaking her head rapidly from side to side, the medic went on taking her mental inventory of items such as blankets, gallon jugs of alcohol to disinfect wounds as well as hands and surfaces for those badly off enough to require transport to the hospital, needles for stitches, and the like.
