Aroooo Ethereal Eclipse, near Crimson Dreams. Nayru is usually in optime now but I can change her to lupus if you’d prefer. 430 wc.

Evening was falling fast and the incoming hush was powerful. Sound by sound Ethereal Eclipse silenced itself, coordinating with fading sunlight. First the scampering of the squirrels and chipmunks up and down tree branches ceased. Then the random snapping of twigs or rustle in the underbrush was no longer heard as the smaller forest animals settled in for the night. The twittering of the birds was one of the last sounds to fade away, leaving only the chirping crickets throwing their particular song out into the darkness, but bit by bit the crickets called it quits and only the soft fall of footsteps resonated in the still forest.

Nayru had ventured out of Dahlia de Mai often enough to feel comfortable with an excursion to the forest that dominated the land west of her home. The cow colored girl had also spent many nights outside of the home she shared with so many others, nestled safely in Wolfville, but always within the borders of her pack. Never had the fairy child been so far from home when the blanket of night blotted out all daylight. Her tardiness in returning to Dahlia had been accidental, she had intended to be back home and in bed by this time but the scent of a roaming bear had forced her to change course considerably, and unfamiliar with the forest this far south she had gotten more than a little lost. Nayru knew well enough to go north and east, but navigating the unfamiliar terrain by blotted out starlight was proving more of a challenge than she would have imagined.

Crimson eyes widened in an effort to see clearer but the thick cover of leaves above made it nearly impossible and Nayru was forced to just move as silently and slowly as possible, her ears and nose doing all the work to alert her to anyone near by. Fear was an unfamiliar emotion to the girl, and even now what she felt couldn’t be described exactly as that, but certainly her nerves were on edge more than they had ever been since her coming to Dahlia de Mai months ago. It was the loud breaking of a branch from behind that finally caused her heart to pound in fright, and spinning quickly to face the unknown, she called out, her voice firm and brave even as her hands shook. "Who’s there?" Nayru wished now for the dagger Saluce had spoken about, but unarmed and inexperienced in self defense the best she could do was put on a brave face and hope for the best.

That's cool, for the sake of Aro's ego, I'll play this as if his Dad showed him how to shift XD

The tuxedo youth was certainly not one to travel too far from home, but curious and independent were quite the combination as he would wonder more often than his parents probably liked. He was also very close to his family making him a little conscience of his actions, but not as much as he would like at times. Going outside the borders was a rarity for the 9 month old and now with his optime form in action he was eager to explore and take on both real and imaginary monsters. Truth be told he didn't pay any attention to where he was going, he just went but not without the aid of a 'sword'. It was a sturdy branch he had taken the time to fashion into what he thought to be impressive and quite the beating tool even though swords were meant for cutting. He hadn't bothered to ask if it was okay to have one, he knew his parents probably wouldn't like him swinging a real sword about, especially when he got in the mood to make his sister play fight with him, making her the villian. He didn't care how old he was there was always time to practice his fighting skills.

Running around he would leap off rocks and swing his sword at branches, sometimes taking them out sometimes not. Not only was he practicing his swinging power, he was practicing his stealth. Hiding behind a tree he would spot a critter and try and sneak up on the poor unsuspecting target then run out full sprint and swing his broad sword at it in full out roar. "You better run, vermin!" He yelled as the little bird, rat, rabbit, chipmunk, or squirrel ran away. He would laugh happy with the fear he instilled into the creature. Standing there he put his wooden sword into the homemade sheath and stood proudly. His eyes looking around seeing that the light was dimming throughout the forest. Lifting his head he sniffed at the air ears perked listening. This would make for a better training environment.. He thought not even thinking that he should be heading home yet. Slowly he crouched down hand on the handle of his sword as his eyes looked squarely on a low branch as he got as close as he thought appropriate her ran drawing out his sword and slashed downward with all his might breaking the limp.

His ears immediately perked as he heard the sound of a female voice. Eyes went wide as it broke his concentration. He looked into the direction it came from frozen in his stance. Looking down to the sword he quickly sheathed it. He stood straight and coughed some clearing his voice so it didn't crack when he spoke. It was rare anymore that it did so, but still this was a female he was going to talk to, he couldn't dare allow himself to be flawed. "I'm Aro..Aro Marino!" He called out, "...and who are you!?" He took a few steps in the direction he heard her voice then paused waiting to hear her again, hopefully he didn't imagine it..now that would be lame..

Aro Marino. The name meant nothing to her, but very few names did, and at least whoever had startled her so had the decency to introduce themselves. Nayru took a few hesitant steps towards the sound of the caller, her eyes searching in vain for the silhouette of the stranger. The voice had sounded young, but not too young. He had sounded older than Gideon, but perhaps not quite an adult, which placed him near to her own age. The only other wolf she knew so close to her own age was King, and he was one of the last males she’d like to meet wandering the forest alone. Using her hands to guide her closer, clinging somewhat to the trees that lined her path, Nayru allowed her voice to be less rigid and take on its natural soft tones. "My name’s Nayru." The black blotched girl thought of how she introduced herself to Anu before, giving her pack name as well, but it seemed silly to continue calling out to someone she couldn’t even see.

"Where are you? I can’t see anything. Make a noise!" It seemed silly, locating one another by sound, but as she drew closer it was hardly necessary. Her nose twitched and she could smell him then, the same scent of Crimson Dreams upon him as it had been upon Anu, and this too help to put the cautious female at ease. Anu had been so kind, and if that was anything to judge other Dreamers by, than it would seem she had nothing to worry of. Of course, Razekiel was kind and he had warned her to stay away from Inferni, despite that being his own home. A few more steps and her eyes focused and there he was, standing before her and she halted suddenly. There was still distance in between them, enough for her to flee if required, but now she could see him, and although bigger than her own tiny self, he was not terrifying. No, indeed, his dark tones set against the light limbs and face reminded her of her own pelt, although more solid and less patchy. "Oh, uh, hello." A timid smile then, and she waited, not quite sure what to say in such a situation.

This time when the female spoke her voice was soft and less panicked. It made him gain a crooked smile, Ah, I eased her with just my voice.. He suddenly gained a more prideful stance as he felt proud by the smallest change. His light blue eyes looked out into the darkness his eyes didn't seem to have as much of a challenge seeing around as his did, perhaps it was because he loved the dark, and how much cooler and crisp the air seemed at night than during the day. A smirk formed hearing her wanting to know where he was, wanting him to make noise. His ears folded back as he spoke, "What kind of noise would you like?" He asks almost teasing, he couldn't help but be ornery and slightly smart about her request. Hearing her talk and with how much lighter of a coat she had, he could already see her slowly getting closer to him. Being able to see her he knew she was close, and he could almost make out her form. She was cute! Her blotchy coat was unique and he liked unique.

Lost in staring at her moving he didn't pay attention to how close she was until she spoke, and his eyes looked up from her body to her. His cheeks got heated and he stumbled his own words when he looked into her eyes. Their crimson tones stuck out against her coat, "..uh...um, hi..." He almost beat himself for how he spoke ..smooth, just smooth! You're a hero! You shouldn't be stuttering!" He tried to recover as he looked down for a moment, then looked up, "What are you doing out here all alone so late?" His light blues looking back into her eyes again. He felt like that was the proper thing to do, maintain eye contact. It was better than staring at her like a numb skull, which he was doing earlier. He wasn't sure if that question was a good recovery, but it was something to get her mind off his stupid stuttering. He drew in a sharp breath to try and fill the odd knot that seemed to be forming in his stomach. He was feeling foolish and he didn't know why. He had never felt shy or this unsure of himself before.

Aro seemed to lose his confidence when he saw her, although why that should be Nayru didn’t know. He had sounded so boisterous when asking her what kind of noises she would have liked to hear, although the joke was lost on innocent Nayru, but when they came face to face he fumbled with his speech. That his reactions might have been caused by her presence never crossed the girl’s mind, and she simply thought his stammering a normal part of his personality. Nayru however brought no attention to the fact that she noticed, ever polite, and simply smiled at the older boy, her cherry eyes taking in more details as they grew accustomed to the lighting and the outline of the Dreamer. Now that Nayru could see clearly she was calm and confident again, he was only a youth like herself, and he seemed friendly enough at that. Nayru could see now that his eyes were a pale blue color, not as dark and rich as Gideon’s but a pleasant color none the less.

"Oh, I didn’t mean to come so far south, but I caught the scent of a bear and wanted to avoid it." The bear had truly disrupted her evening plans. Although she probably could have snuck by undetected by the creature Nayru valued her life more than that, and if a few extra miles of walking meant avoiding the large beast she wouldn’t risk a run in. Perhaps she had too far out of her way, more than had been necessary, but Nayru had thought she’d make better time than she had. "I was trying to get home." Would he think her silly for such poor planning? Nayru decided she wouldn’t worry about that, once older and more experienced with the land and herself it wouldn’t matter what time of night she wanted to travel and getting caught up outside of her home wouldn’t be an issue. "I’m from Dahlia de Mai." And it was still so far away and she was still here, but Nayru minded that less now that she had someone to talk with, as if whatever had set her on edge before was dispelled with the presence of another.

Luck. She didn't mention his stammering, so he began to feel better, and his question was a success. A more confident demeanor came from him, and when she mentioned danger, Aro was on it like a dog for a tennis ball. "Really!?"He exclaimed as he leaned against the tree like a slick, confident, brave male. When she mentioned needing to go home, he thought more, she was a female in danger, and in need of assistance! Just the thing he had been itching for...well, not so much that fact she was..well a female. It was more so the fact that he could finally be helpful and the fact that she was cute was a bonus. He could prove himself and, well how far could she be? Then she continued and his eyes grew wide hearing that she was from Dahlia, "You're very far from home! Mmm.." He brought up his left hand and lifted his head some stroking his fur back. "Well, how about I take you home? I'm sure my parents will understand when I explain to them your situation." A smooth smile creased his muzzle as those pale blue eyes light up with excitement. It all honesty his parents were probably going to be pissed that he was traveling that far away, and the trip would probably take all night she was way closer to Crimson Dreams than Dahlia for sure. Regardless the tuxedo boy was up for it, up for the adventure.

With one leg he kicked his body off the tree, "Well then, we don't have all night to get you home, now do we?" He said as he began to walk boldly his eyes looking at the rocks looking for large amounts of moss, he remembered something about how moss grew on one side more so than the other, the north side to be exact. He was going to show just how skilled he was and how brave. His nose naturally picking up scents as he walked along, "...so, Nayru was it? What brought you out here to begin with?" He began to talk idly, but also curious about what brought her out here, all alone. It wasn't very safe, especially since inferni--well, no they didn't venture out here very often, that wouldn't be a danger, but still! Anything can go wrong, she needed protection! His mind wheeled about as he puffed out his chest. He'll protect her from any danger! Not only her, but anyone. His imagination began to take hold as his eyes began to look out with intensity staring down any critter that came in their path.

durr, Nayru is a bit slow on the draw when it comes to boys XD 639.

The boy seems excited at the mention of the bear and Nayru though that was foolish on his part. Who went looking for danger? Yet perhaps he was just of a different type than she. She who was calm and collected had never really been stirred to action; at least she hadn’t been yet. Saluce had tried to invoke her fight response once, but she neither fought nor fled and Nayru wondered if she ever would. Ever since then she had been less guarded, as if to prove to herself that she could trust others. Nayru recalled napping in Halifax, and now, so carelessly getting lost, all the opposite of what she knew she was both capable and meant to do. Well, she had never been in real danger, she had never feared for her life. Even now she knew the nervous dread she felt was more imaginary than anything else. Truly she didn’t require an escort, she was capable of stumbling back home alone, but neither did she want to wander all those miles by herself. " Dahlia is very far." Her words were cautious, as if he might change his mind. Perhaps he did not realize the hours it would take to work their way back to her home, or maybe he didn’t care.

Aro mentioned parents and Nayru’s interest peaked. The piebald girl thought of her own parents, wondering if they cared whether she was alone at night, miles from home, or not. They would never know. No child in Dahlia de Mai had parents anymore, King’s mother had left and he had stayed, and with that all the adolescents and puppies were officially orphans. No one there had to answer to parents, was it normal for parents to be angry at such actions? Certainly Conor would be concerned if she mentioned being so far away so late, but he would understand. Would commend her for avoiding the bear, for understanding she was not capable of conquering the large beast herself. Yet he too probably wouldn’t know, wouldn’t ask anything when she came in the house as the sun was coming up and slept the day away. Perhaps then Aro’s life and her’s were very different. Perhaps such differences would explain why he longed for danger and she skirted it, he bold and adventurous and her calm and calculating.

Silently with a grateful smile she accepted his offer and moved along beside him, still too naïve to take pleasure in the company of the opposite gender but interested to be with one so near to her own age. Gideon was perhaps her greatest friend, but at times they both felt the gap of maturity even if both of them refused to let it restrict them. All others had been adults, and it was perhaps this aspect of her life that made her too mature at times, too adult, and now purposefully childish and silly when Nayru knew she should be more concerned than ever with entering the adult world. The adult ranks. Yet here, now, she could focus on him, on herself, and see if that proved to be satisfying. If it was preferable to being the warrior in making that Saluce wanted her to be, or to learning herbs from books and conversing with grownups like she was one of them. Almost like she had never been a child.

"I was just exploring. I want to know these lands, all of them." Ever in need of knowledge, Nayru had made it her mission, ever since her first visit out to Aniwaya, to learn all the paths and trails that the luperci followed. To know the whole lay of the land. Perhaps learning in the dark wasn’t the best, but this too would prove educational. "Don’t you ever leave Crimson Dreams? You know, just to explore?"

Haha, it is okay ^^ She is a girl afterall...sometimes we are a little naive to settle attractions.

He was excited at the prospect of traveling, of escorting another to safety. It was his dream and when she mentioned Dahlia being so far, he merely shrugged and went 'ah' as if saying so what, who cares? Finally, he had found the moss and knew for sure which way to go through the woods. He pushed passed a branch and held it back so she could pass by it clearly, his eyes looking at her with a nice smile as she began to answer him. Exploring, he remembered doing that all over Crimson, he was beginning to know its layout like the back of his paw, but he was slowly beginning to know it so well he could navigate blind folded. The thought made him almost want to do so. He nearly laughed then let the branch go as she asked him the questions, "Yeah, I've explored, but I don't go far from my family, I have to keep them safe, you know?" It was a rhetorical question, but he added it in there anyway. As he mentioned keeping his family safe he puffed out his chest slightly as he continued to walk navigating on now that he was sure they were going the right way. The moss becoming their guide, his eyes took a quick glance over to her as he then went on, "...I take it you explore a lot, huh?" He gave a light smile, curious to know more about her, "Where have you been?"

The white and black girl seemed rather reserved quite different from his sister, that was for sure. He really liked it, his sister annoyed him at times. Perhaps she was more mature, but still she was younger but not by much so why would she be so different in behavior. Either way her reserved behavior was a nice change in pace for him, he felt more relaxed by it somehow despite him being so outgoing. He did love to wonder off though he hadn't ever wondered too far. Perhaps it was the fact that it worried his parents and he didn't like to upset them at all really, but his curiosity was always there and being independent was one of his strong traits. They were slowly getting further and further away from Crimson and for a moment he was beginning to feel slightly nervous. He had never spent a night away from his parents and he knew that his mom especially would become worried. Maybe he should have said something, or let out a call? It was too late of a thought now, so he would try and push the nagging thought away. Being this deep and this far out he needed to have his senses up, and he needed to really focus if they were going to make it back unharmed. Aro had never been in true danger and now as he became more serious about their venture the more he began to realize he hadn't ever had to face it. His nerves began to stir as his imagination again flared. He shook his head closing his eyes blinking hard. Pull yourself together, Aro! He yelled at himself, inside his head.

There was a steep incline and he jumped down landing stealthily. Standing, he turned around to face her holding out his arms, hands out, to help ease her down. Inside he really hoped she would allow him to help. His ears went back slightly as he awaited her, his arms tensed; somewhat on purpose and somewhat out of anticipation that he would be touching her and holding her for a second. For a that exact moment his eyes looked slightly shy as they met hers.

Protect his family? Nayru smiled at the remark, although she wasn’t sure how applicable the statement was to the realities of the boy’s life. The patch work girl understood the sentiment, although she had no family left to protect, she was dedicated and devoted to Dahlia de Mai. Daily she was beginning to think of herself as less an individual with her own desires and more an entity belonging to Dahlia de Mai. Her body and mind were there to serve the pack, to protect them, to better them. Only her soul was left for herself, and that could only be reclaimed when death took her. Aro perhaps did not mean quite this when he said he was there to protect his family, but it was the basic instinct, the inner drive to be part of something, that drove them both, Nayru was sure. " Do you have a very large family?"

They walked on, and Nayru let him question her, although it was strange. Very few had asked the girl about herself, how she spent her time or what she thought and felt, who she lived with and how she liked it. Those in Dahlia de Mai would ask, occasionally, but they knew her well enough that they didn’t have to. Some saw her daily, and so never did they focus too intently their interest on her. Of course others had questions, outsiders, but they asked of Dahlia de Mai, not of her. To have Aro’s interest in what she did, where she had explored, was odd. Pleasant though. "I’ve explored most of the northern shore and I’ve been to Aniwaya. Also, much of the forest between Dahlia and Aniwaya, but never so far south as this. There is a city below Dahlia too, and a forest on the other side." All three sides of Dahlia de Mai had been conquered, and at this Nayru felt accomplished. Perhaps she still did not know the other packs well enough, but there would be time for that too.

They came to the incline and Nayru prepared herself to jump easily down beside the blue eyed boy. Her lithe body could be very catlike, and she had no qualms about making the leap and landing, but she paused, realizing that he was offering her assistance. To refuse would be rude, and Nayru was nothing if not polite, so she gracefully accepted the offer. Placing her palms in his hands, she allowed him to help lowered herself, and smiled sincerely as her feet found solid ground. " Thank you." Nayru removed her hands, noting the warmth of his own as she withdrew, and continued on, following his lead.

Already they were making quite the progress on their adventure, and adventure was what Aro lived for but also being protective was his strongest inner drive. When the younger female spoke of family and how big it was he smiled, "Yeah, I have a decent sized family, they're also scattered all over the place...really. Some of my family isn't even blood related, but they're a Marino by heart." He touched his chest as he spoke with a smile. His eyes looked up trying to see some of the stars, but the vegetation from the trees made them near to none. It was slightly disappointing to him, but as she spoke again his mind focused again to her voice and what she had to say. "Wow..don't your parents get worried about you traveling so far alone?" His eyes turned back to her showing some of his concern in his expression. Turning back to the front his lips went together as his brows went inward.

As he took her hand, he noticed how much more delicate it was than his. Already he was beginning to have strong masculine hands. As she eased down he replied, "You're welcome, Nayru..." His mind wondered back to her travels and began to show slight concern again, "...have you thought about having a traveling companion?" He asked curiously as he drew out his fake sword wacking at some brush to clear it out of the way so they'd have a clear path. With how long they had been walking it wouldn't be a surprise if they weren't halfway there. Honestly, his lids were starting to get heavy. It had been the longest he'd been up for, but he wasn't going to stop not until they made it to Dahlia. His arm swung in a slightly lazy motion as his mind zoned out thinking to himself. "..you know..maybe you can come to Crimson sometime...and we can go on one of these travels together.." His eyes glanced back wondering one she thought about that, "..or I can come to Dahlia at times too...you can show me around the place.." He added as he felt some warmth come to his cheeks continuing to swing the wooden sword about. It was then that he realized just how stupid he looked swinging a wooden sword around like an idiotic pup. Quickly he sheathed it back up and folded his arms not sure what to do with them.

Nayru let all the questions come before she paused to consider them. He asked both of her family and if she had ever considered a traveling companion. As they walked on she kept silent for a moment, letting her answers roll around in her head before she allowed them to roll out of her mouth. Was it strange not to have parents? Would he ask her further questions then? Her lack of family never bothered her, so loved did the black and white girl feel by most of Dahlia de Mai’s members, but neither did she want to explain that she had just wandered off one day. She had left them, following another woman, or perhaps she had been a dream, Nayru didn’t know, and ended up in Dahlia de Mai. They were family now, more perhaps than the memory of her parents and sisters, and a small smile spread as she realized this. " Conor and Bris don’t mind, they trust me. They however might not be pleased I am out so late, but I stayed overnight in Aniwaya and they never scolded me for it." Yet Conor and Bris never scolded her on anything, only offered gentle suggestions on what better she could do if they felt her actions were not proper. And at times they never even knew of her actions, had either of them checked her bedroom that night? Had they this night?

Nayru let Conor and Bris slip from her mind as she thought over his second inquiry. Instead of sorting it out in her mind first, Nayru’s gentle voice filled the sleepy forest, a low whisper fitting for the late hours. " I’ve never traveled with anyone else before. Sometimes in Dahlia de Mai I would explore with my friend Gideon, but he never leaves the pack lands." And then his next words hit her and she felt herself flush for the first time. Before she hadn’t thought much on his interest in her life, but his request to see her again struck her. Why it should be any different than her friendship with Liliana in Aniwaya Nayru could not say, but it was. Still, she could not think of a reason to deny Aro his request. " I will, and you can." It was simple, she had shown others around Dahlia de Mai before and she enjoyed it greatly, and she liked to tour the other packs, so why not? It was how things were done, and then it struck Nayru. Of course she would have to offer him shelter for the remainder of the night and early morning hours, it was only polite. " You can stay in Dahlia de Mai tonight if you’d like, unless you want to hurry home." He did after all have parents who would worry, but she doubted very much if his parents were as protective as he indicated that they would like their son wandering home from so far away alone. Still, he like her was almost an adult, and Nayru would let him choose as he would, as she did for herself.

RAWR! MUSE!

Aro was genuinely shocked to know that her parents didn't mind. Aro hadn't ever stayed the night away from his parents. He knew his mom would be furious when he finally returned not to mention his dad would surely be upset to, but surely with a good explanation they'd both understand. A big smile crossed his mug when he heard her say she would come to crimson sometime, and that they can travel together. She'd be his first genuine female friend...though he did find her quite cute, and her voice was so sweet sounding to his ears. He gulped a little nervous at the prospect of such things. Being a friend to someone that he found so very attractive. Was it possible? He'd find out sure enough. Ears perked and he looked back, "Perhaps, I would like to, but I know my parents will be fretting quite a bit...though..I know I need the rest..so...sure why not?" He laughed some as he turned back to the front of him so he didn't trip. He felt a little flushed for a moment. Gone a whole night, ooh he's going to be in deep mud for this.

His eyes blinked hard as the moon was high in the sky now, and all this walking and traveling was wearing him down. Surely they had to have been walking for hours now. His nose dipped toward the sky and he drew in the scents. They were far from Crimson now, and he could smell salt in the air they were at the bay, his eyes grew wide as he scurried down to the water, "Which way..." He said to himself. They had walked virtually in a straight line. He hoped he wasn't making her tired, they hadn't taken a break at all and walked straight on here. Four and a half hours of straight walking, luckily they hadn't ran into danger, except for a few spider webs, and a snake which he threw with his wooden sword. He was beginning to feel hungry, maybe he should have killed it and saved it to cook, but eh. His eyes looked back to her. "...do we need to go east now...right?" His nose detected there was a pack that way, and not too far either. It was about an hour from this point now, so not too much more walking thankfully. His sky blues took on an almost emerald blue in the heavy full glare of the moon. His eyes broke from hers to look at the sky. Another grin formed. "Man...those stars..mmhmm" He said under his breath. Why was he so fascinated with them? Then his brows came together remembering how his mom said you could navigate by the stars. He didn't ask how, but perhaps he could learn when he read about them. He had yet to do that, maybe him and his---no, why not her? [/B]"Hey...do you know how to read?"[/B] He asked curiously as he began to walk along the coat heading in an eastern north direction following it making sure to stay at her side as they walked along the sand.

NAYRU AND ARO ARE HAVING A SLUMBER PARTY!!!! XD XD 367

A half smile crossed her as he expressed his hesitance at staying because of his parents. In the end he agreed and she nodded, as if he had made the right choice. He could room with her in Conor’s house, her own bedroom was far too big for just herself anyway, so finding him a place to sleep was never a concern. Should Conor discover the Crimson Dreams male in her room he might have some words, but more than likely only a questioning look. He would not approve of the boy being here without his parent’s knowledge, but it was likely that Nayru wouldn’t any words until the boy was gone, and perhaps not even then. So it was settled and they continued on, closing in closer to Dahlia de Mai every moment.

"East." Her gentle voice agreed, and she indicated the direction with her head for emphasis. The woods were now familiar enough to her and the strong scent of the Dahlian wolves was detectable. Just the scent made Nayru’s heart swell, as it did every time she returned from no matter how short or long a journey, and her pace quickened. The patchwork girl was eager for her home and the sooner Aro found rest the sooner he could return to his own. Nayru barely found the time to turn her head up at the stars that Aro pointed out, there would be time enough for that once they were within the pack borders. However his next words caused her to slow and stay at his pace.

"I do know how to read." Her calm eyes caught his curiously and she smiled then, inner pride at having acquired this skill and eager to share it with someone. "Bris taught me. I can teach you if you’d like." Nayru was not an expert, but the words came easier now and it wouldn’t be hard to get Aro started. "I found a book in Halifax on plants I’ve been reading, but there are a lot of books at Conor’s house. I can show them to you." Nayru considered then, an idea forming in her head, a generosity she hadn’t known before beginning to surface in her.

Haha, nice nice ^^

The black and white female was so excited the moment she caught the scent Aro felt like he had to pick up his feet more. She was quite the excitable one, despite her quiet appearance she gave off. He nearly halted into her when she slowed. His eyes widened in shock for a moment, then he quickly collected himself. He felt slightly embarrassed. She seemed to know how to read really well. He knew some words here and there from attempting to follow his father when he read to them. "Well, I know how to read a little, some words, but not enough. Does Halifax...or even perhaps Conor have books on stars and things like that?" He asked slightly shy as he lifted one arm to nervously scratch the back of his head, eyes averted to not look at her expression fearing she'd think him stupid or something. Why her opinion mattered so much he didn't know, but it did.

Looking back to the red eyes girl, he looked into those eyes. It seemed they met directly for the first time, the moon's light allowing him to see her more clearly. To him her red eyes looked like gems, beautiful and full of intense life. He let out a smile, "Ha, let's get you home..." He picked up pace a little, as he thought about how nice it could be to spend more time with her...learning to read more quite the bonus. However, it was more the fact it was an excuse to be with her. A smile came over him as he was now beginning something new, something exciting, but almost frightening to him as well. He drew in a deep breath taking note of the pack land scent. He had never been to another pack territory that he could remember, let alone Dahlia. They were friendly right? He remembered something about coyote's and Dahlia...something about them fighting. Were coyote's bad? Was Dahlia bad? Certainly, Dahlia wasn't I mean, how could such a kind female be produced in Dahlia. He was so curious now, so excited.

Should we end the thread or you want to keep going? Maybe we should move the thread then since they are now in Dahlia XD 429.

Nayru eyed the male when he said he knew how to read and she felt herself flush. However the fur upon her face prevented the embarrassment from showing and Nayru mentally chastised herself for assuming he didn’t have that skill. Was it arrogance on her part or just misinterpretation of his question? Either way Nayru did wished only to be modest and always understanding, so her blunder was unacceptable. However, Aro didn’t seem to mind and quickly they moved past the issue. Did Conor have books on stars? Maybe, Nayru hadn’t really looked through all his books but he had so many, and even if he did not, Dahlia de Mai was home to a library and a smaller high school as well as countless homes and buildings that held literature. "If he doesn’t than I am sure we can find a book somewhere. Maybe not today since you need to get home but I could look and bring one to Crimson Dreams perhaps?" Was it allowable for her to give away a book of Dahlia’s when she had ventured out of the pack lands to acquire the only book she owned herself? Yet who would notice one book missing from their vast collection, especially if she could find more than one on the subject?

The border was in sight now, the large boulders that the members had begun to place along the edges of the pack in sight and Nayru’s pace quickened again. Stepping across it Nayru they entered at the edge of St. Pepin’s, almost where the land turned into Flander’s Field and the gravestones of dead humans rose up ominously. The sight of the land always filled the girl with joy and she turned happily to her companion, pleased at the chance to show yet another soul about her homelands. "These are the vineyards. There are actually a lot of vineyard and orchards here, it’s not all just one, and a lot of old cellars to store wine and the like. Some old farm houses too." They moved on and through the tall uncut grass that came nearly up to Nayru’s hips. Quickly she found one of the paths often used by Dahlians and turned towards Berwick and Wolfville. Would Aro be surprised at the amount of human structures Dahlia laid claim to? Many others were, but if he had been to Halifax than Wolfville wouldn’t be comparable. As they moved along the suburban homes of Berwick rose up in the distance and Nayru smiled when she thought of the density built up Wolfville waiting beyond.

ooc murr

His ears pressed forward as he noticed the small change in her demeanor after he said he could read, a slight smile came over him, "Hey...if you want there are plenty of words I don't know...perhaps you can teach me what I don't know...I don't mind. You seem really brilliant I'm sure there is a lot I can learn from you." as I'm sure there are somethings you can learn from me.. he thought but didn't say as he put up his arms and stretched them as he walked leisurely, his eyes glanced over again when she spoke about borrowing books, "That would be nice.." then she began to pick up speed again. He muffled a groan Maaaann... He picked up pace as well. Entering into the territory he took note of the distinct scent that was not like Crimson's. "So, this is your Dahlia..." Is eyes looked around taking mental notes of the territory.

Immediately she began to show him around, he couldn't help but admire her when she was excited. A twinkle came to her red eyes that just somehow made her more attractive. He hadn't noticed he was staring at her with a twinkle of his own as she pointed everything out. He would give those things a mild glance, but she had his attention more than the atmosphere. The young male was beginning to feel this crush, though it was there the first time he saw her but now he was actually beginning to recognize it. It was at this point he realized he was staring at her and tore his gaze away with a small laugh trying to play it off, "Yeah? Have you ever drank any of the wines before? I know my dad from what I heard use to drink some of the human made drinks...I wonder what they taste like?" He asked curious of of it.

har har Nayru doesn’t feel like drinking XD um sorry for the wait. School has been eating me.

Nayru shook her head and kept moving, purpose in her step. "No, I’ve never tried them. Others drink them though." The young girl had never been curious to what the pretty liquid in the glass bottles tasted like, it just didn’t concern her. Perhaps it was that the opportunity was always present, trying the drink was not urgent, if the girl ever changed her mind she could try it any time. And as she had no intention of drinking it nor did she offer it to her guest, but instead breezed on, the vineyards falling behind them as they made their way through Berwick and into Wolfville. The town rose up, the buildings impressive compared to the flat earth they were built upon. "Not much further now." The house was in sight and Nayru did not slow as they neared it.

Coming up to the front door of the Victorian style home Nayru gingerly turned the knob. Motioning for Aro to follow, she slipped in, slow and steady now and trying to make as little noise as possible. In a dropped voice Nayru spoke, guiding Aro with a gentle hand on his arm. "My room is right through there but Conor’s books are in the big room down this hall." They tiptoed there and once inside Nayru closed the door behind them, hoping that none of the other inhabitants of the house would disturb them. Nayru felt that she was doing nothing wrong, but having to explain her visitor wasn’t something she looked forward to.

Picking up a candle and matched from a table, the young girl lit them and handed the light to Aro, indicating the books. "I don’t know if there are any about stars but we can look."

Lol...that would be humorous though to see them drunk together XD

Aro listened to her wondering why she wouldn't be curious to try it, maybe he would also talk to his dad about wine and stuff, it was interesting. He wanted to try it curious to explore new things and know about them was Aro's number one goal in life. His eyes looked back to the sweet female before him and followed her his eyes wondering here and there as he was really feeling himself want to sleep, but refused to give in, especially in her presence. Finally they came to what appeared to be her home and her coming to the door confirmed it. The black and white boy stayed as quiet as wolfishly possible, her warm hand guiding him through the unfamiliar settings. Knowing her room excited him a little for more than one reason. One being sleep, two being curiosity, and third was his mind sort of wondering somewhere it shouldn't. He closed his eyes trying to push away the wrong thought as she guided him to the library. He wasn't quite wanting to go there right now, but he merely smiled and went with her.

He stood in one place awaiting the light, then when it did come he looked around taking the lamp from her as she handed it to him. "Well...I'm sure we could find one book..if not there's always Halifax.." He whispered with a slight laugh. He looked through the columns his eyes looking for anything that looked like it was on the subject, unaware that he would be looking for a book on astronomy, but sooner or later he'd find it. He was totally clueless on where to start, his lids were growing heavy and he looked back to his female companion, "...you know..I wonder if we should start this another day...books usually don't have clear cut titles like 'Stars' or anything like that..I mean, what did humans call all that space anyway? I'm sure they had to make it complicated like how they have so many names for everything else. I mean look at what they did to the dog.." He laughed lightly still making sure to keep his voice down which for Aro was quite a challenge as he wasn't a quiet canine to say the least.

All in good time!

Aro seemed interested in the book but his weariness was evident. Nodding she took up the candle from him to lit the way back to their room. He would leave in a few hours and they would perhaps have to look for the books another day, but Nayru was content with that. She laughed lightly at his remark on dogs, although the only dog she could think of was Lilliana and Nayru didn’t quite know what Aro meant. Yet the jest in his voice was enough to put her in good spirits as she moved toward the door back to the hallway. "Alright, let’s go to sleep. I’m tired too." Gently as to not make any loud noises Nayru shut the door behind them and led him back to her bedroom.

Inside she closed the door and peered around hesitantly. Bris, Conor and Gideon often came to her room, but Nayru had never considered how it might look to an outsider. Still it was sparse; her only belongings were one book stashed under her bed and the anklet she wore almost constantly. In her room there was only a bed and the beaten up desk, void of anything in or on it. How did they sleep in Crimson Dreams? On beds like the Dahlians of Conor’s house, or in lupus form like wolves were meant to? Softer than normal she nodded to the bed, unsure of how to proceed but trying to do so as naturally as possible. "You can take the bed, I don’t mind sleeping on the floor." Aro was, after all, her guest.

Maybe Conor should jump in finding Aro in her room. LOL I'd love it! What ya' think? Also, sorry for the shortness...Sad

As much as he'd love to continue being up with her, he really needed sleep if he was going to take the long hike back home he'd need his rest. He was relieved when she mentioned she too was tired. Allowing her to take the light he followed her back fighting to keep his eyes opened. He remained quiet knowing that it was late and here they were sneaking about. He didn't really know who all was here, did she have siblings? They entered the room and the lantern lit their path, the room wasn't much really and but it was a room. His eyes looked up at her as his brows creased together, "I wouldn't dare sleep have you sleep on the floor. That would be rude of me to make a lady sleep on the floor." He almost looked upset, well, perhaps he was upset about it, but really, what kind of man would that make him if he made women sleep on the floor while he was comfortable on the bed. Walking over to where two walls met he moved to a seated position and leaned his back against the two walls and let out a yawn, "I will gladly sleep right here.." His sky blue eyes looked at her darkened crimson eyes with a warm smile, "No lady will go uncomfortable while I'm around.." He laughed a little forgetting for a moment to be quiet.
