Hearth and Home

If another beast spoke the words she did, Heath would have been unable to listen to them. He would have taken it as an excuse to the crimes that his father had committed them, all of them. An excuse for wandering around his home was giving him an out for everything. Forgiveness for one was forgiveness for all of it. Heath could not allow an inch of peace for the Valley leader, for such a thing could grow. The male wouldn’t live with the notion that his back had been turned his back on his siblings and actually had a relationship with the wolf that had killed their mother, only after taking her dignity. But, when she spoke them Heath could let the anger leech from his mind, though he still could not say that his presence was welcomed. And anyone below him was not to be trusted as well, not immediately.

He was happy to move away from the relentless thoughts of his father, ready to put it away and forget once again. Heath smiled at her, giving her a little squeeze before letting her go and move back to the kitchen cupboards. ”Sounds good, I’m hungry” he said with the playfulness back in his voice. Just as she brought him out of a red haze she lifted him up into a place that felt as normal and happy, as he would ever be. Heath moved to the table, taking the knife he carried in his pocket and setting it down by the rabbits as he splayed them out and then began to cut the skin off their backs.

The cat took to his ankles, reaching up against his legs at the smell of the open flesh. Gold eyes looked at the collie fey then cut one of the rabbits hind paws off to dangle in front of the kitten, teasing him. “I hope things were better here…” He asked before throwing the little paw out for the fluffy cat to chase. Though he had not thought that he and the kitten would become as close as it and Ruri, the two boys had made a certain bond and enjoyed each others company more then he ever thought they might.
