Starting Anew

Fabayo's howling immediately stopped as soon as she saw the older wolf. She gave a shy little whine, uncurling her tail and wagging it slightly. "W-who are you?" she asked cautiously, gazing up at Cerridwyn with pale gold eyes. She couldn't stop herself from yawning, and Fabayo shook her head in annoyance. She stood up to stretch her legs; they had been in one position for too long to be comfortable. Now that she was standing, the difference in size between her and Cerridwyn was even more apparent.

She's as big as Mom... Fabayo thought to herself in awe. She had never met another wolf as big as her parents, but she had also lived quite a sheltered life. She trusted her almost immediately, and had to force herself not to wag her tail. Manners, like Mom taught me, was her reminder. She dipped her head, pushing her tail back between her legs slightly. "I-it's nice to meet you..." Her words were a mumble, but the respect was there. She hoped it was; she couldn't afford to not be let into the pack. How was a two-month-old puppy supposed to survive on her own?
