Its not that Simple

He was eager to know what it was that caused her upset and tired persona. This was not the Annan that he knew, not the one that chased after her horse in jest, or always spoke with a certain humor and curiosity filled tone. She was different and he wanted to know it was that made her unhappy. Perhaps to help find a way to relieve it. Maybe just so that he knew that it was not he who made her feel this way. As hard and rough as he tried to be, Heath never truly survived long when someone he cared for was upset with him. He was quiet, walking beside her in silence and waiting until she felt comfortable to speak of it. And when she did he listened with interest, a quiet and solid support.

Amber eyes looked at her fingers as they fiddled with a small branch, but his ears worked to bring his mind the information that she gave in small bits at a time. They were things that he could understand to be upsetting, but he himself had not truly looked back since coming here. He thought of his siblings often, hoping that what they had left to find was a good life and the peace that they had all set out in search of. But Heath thought little of those that had raised him, his mind either looking forward or at times into the shadows of his past, and of his father. He worried not of the pack that he mother had been born from, not of their health or happiness.

His ears twitched at the uneasy thoughts she gave him. The images of such a disaster were easy to come to him, but not simple to bear. It made him upset to think that she felt this way, so responsible for those that she had needed to leave. He had not known her long, but Heath knew her well enough to understand that it had been hard for her to go and know that decision was coming back to haunt her. He was quiet for a moment, trying to find that right words that would help her guilt, to ease the heartache and worry. He knew her to be strong willed and minded, and the same comfort that he extended to his mate would not fit here. Our actions touch may more then we anticipate. Voice low, knowing that there was little that he could do to solve her worrying thoughts.

You needed to leave, he thought out loud, having gained the feeling that she had needed to leave the more they spoke. but that couldn't have been easy. It was all he said, waiting and ready for her to give him more if she was willing.
