Denali was surprised at the fall as well, he made his own puppy sound of surprise, and looked down sniffing at the snail to see if it was still alive. It had sunk all the way into its shell, it seemed like forever when the head popped out and its stems swerved back and forth, as though it was trying to sense where it was. He watched and with a heavy sigh of relief gave a big smile at Alder.
Boy that was scary! I think it is ok cause it can make itself squish in the shell!
He could tell the other puppy felt really bad about making the snail fall off the leaf, he felt bad for both of them, but now that the little slimy thing was on the ground, he decided it was time for something else to do.

He said, wagging his tail, hoping his new friend would do something more with him. There was so much to do! It was too bad they didn’t have hands like his mommy and daddy they could play stick together! But since they didn’t they weren’t able to, but who’s to say they couldn’t find another game to play?
