(p) saw the wave of the future

Word Count → 364 :: HERRRRRRP. So on my merry venture out into the real world I saw a car accident's aftermath (right after, as in the first cop rolled up just then) and a dude getting arrested, probably for smoking crack or trying to rob one of the cars in this old, semi-secluded car lot. NEW JERSEY ARE FUN. Also, derp powerplayed him walking in. >_> Also this is a really weiiiird post. :<

The sable-shaded hybrid preferred her two-legged form, especially in these underground tunnels. It seemed more natural to live like this when one had two legs rather than four, but Eris herself hardly noticed the particulars of the form others chose to take. Their preferences went without note, as Eris was generally unaware of others. Anymore, the only ones she cared about were the children -- they had become the primary focus of the Tuyul, and the motivation behind her drive to better herself. For the most part, Eris was too embarrassed to ask Larkspur or anyone else to help her. She feared looking weak, and asking for help was the epitome of weakness. Sirius had been the only one she felt comfortable enough with -- perhaps this was due to their shared blood, perhaps not. In any case, Eris felt closer to him than she did to most in this pack.

Strange as it was, Larkspur was still less understood than Sirius, and she had been living with him the past two months. The chartreuse-eyed woman listened to the wolf's approach, familiar enough with his gait to recognize it by sound alone with the aid of the echo provided by the caves. It felt as though she should have addressed him, somehow -- he was not her mate, and any of the words she might have called him if so would not work here. She did not love him, and though they had children together, the hybrid was not certain as to where they stood. In a rather atypical fashion, however, Eris had long decided she did not care -- she would not pursue the subject of their relationship status with him. There was no point in disturbing the comfortable rhythm they had established together.

Finally, the burly sable wolf rounded the corner into their home, and Eris smiled at him, an awkward and brief thing that disappeared as quickly as it appeared. Her yellow-green eyes peered at him curiously. “The children aren't here. Probably playing with the other kids,” she suggested. There were at least three other young kids in Anathema, providing Pandemic, Salvia, and Wretch with at least a few other playmates.
