No closer than a stranger

Thank you for taking interest, Titmouse. Big Grin

The industrial strength of any Luperci's human like hands couldn't elude the desensitization the ice had upon the digits, as clawed tips quickly grew numb. Scratching away meticulously at a specific area of ground where there was something of a metal like rod protruding from the snow, it didn't appear like an object of significant use or value. Another piece of scrap garbage, often encountered numerous times throughout his travel, forgotten in the past. For the Italian's fortune, such little matters wouldn't pay any attention, for agouti ears perked at the sudden salute to his species coming from behind. While the Italian was previously crouched down, he stood up swiftly, and turned.

Before him (or below him, as he expected to see someone to his height, but narrowed his amber gaze downward) was a figure cloaked in complete black, with varying shades of darker gray evident in the afternoon sun. Even the depths of the Luperci's eyes were a void of black, a surprisingly and cryptic trait to behold, in which the blackened depths melded right into the hue of his coat as if there were no eyes at all. Lines of crimson tear stains trailed down to his cheekbones, and the authenticity of such markings was questioned by Ettore. They certainly didn't manifest into a pattern anyone would be born with. What a strange little creature, while the physique of him looked coyote, he certainly had to be something else otherwise.

Moments of silence passed, before Ettore would have to return the gesture of acknowledging. While there were few jackals encountered in his travels, it was not enough to be confident in identifying this one as a pure jackal. "Not coyote…" Ettore finally responded, his Italian accent thick in the two words alone. Seconds of additional fleeting silence passed, hazel amber eyes falling beyond the tips of the black Luperci's unusually large ears. No other similar beings were around, and his eyes along with fascination drew themselves back upon the small creature-like Luperci. "Do you know what they call these parts?" Ettore questioned then, taking it as a shot in the dark to interrogate.
