It's too bad

Apparently she was not overly happy to see him again, but he could understand that. Cercelee and Coli had been good friends, so seeing him here alone without his offspring was of course disappointing for her, he was sure. He became slightly irritated as she commented his own words. She knew exactly what he had meant. Old faces, faces he knew, it was a way of speaking. Haku disliked being corrected, but he forced himself to let the comment pass, and just kept his little smile. Hopefully Cercelee and Colibri had not talked too much about him. Colibri was a pathetic wreck that hid everything inside of her, so that she could have something to cry about at nights. Pathetic.

”Coli decided not to come, so it is only me, I’m afraid.” Haku had appreciated Cercelee’s departure back in the past. The demon had begun to stir at that time, and it fitted so perfectly that he was alone with his daughter. Sure, he did feel guilt every now and then, but he just chose not to think of it too much. He had enjoyed it. His words were sincere as he spoke them, because Coli could always have followed, but she had not. Completely understandable, it was for the best, really. Coli was probably left exactly at the spot he had left her. Cold and broken on the floor, weeping. Why did they all weep? Why?
