Amy nodded her head wearily at his words. She took another deep drink, letting it wash through her in a wave of a buzz. Of course he was her slave. There wasn't anything else he could be. There was no way Amy would keep a mate that was so timid, and she didn't really have any friends, only allies who would be only so willing to stab her in the back given a chance. It was a bit lonely, but it was something Amy no longer realized, having experienced nothing else. It allowed her to be as hard as ice, the death merchant, the demon in disguise.
Turning the bottle Amy shook it, disappointed that it was already emptied. The meat sizzled, declaring itself done. Lazily Amy waved for Hadley to take care of it. She looked at Sebastian, ready to ask for another bottle when he asked his question. Amy burst into laughter, unable to control herself. For a good few minutes she just laughed at the ridiculousness of his statement. A slave, kill a master? That wasn't unheard of, but that was in unbroken slaves and ones trained to kill. The typical slave held none of those traits. Amy always made sure hers were good and broken, and had no need for someone trained to kill. It was too risky if they ever realized that they were stronger than their master, and Amy loved the feel of the kill in her own hands.
At last her laughter subsided. Straightening up Amy looked Sebastian right in the eye. Have you ever killed anyone? Intentionally hurt someone? Made someone submit just because you could? Or maybe you've been in battle, fought against enemies and proven your worth? Have you done any of those things? Hm? Her gaze was cold, the eyes of death now, no longer just a simple pregnant dog.
