Her fingers strayed subconsciously to the little pouches she wore around her cream-furred throat, relieved to know that she had a last line of defense should this male be dishonest. There was an earnest quality about him, though, a look of genuine apology in his youthful cerulean eyes. Colibri felt her tense posture begin to relax, oddly comforted by his size rather than threatened by it. He was so polite. "It's all right," she replied in acknowledgment. "One can't be too careful out here..."
"...Are those things smart?" she found herself asking, peering curiously past the broad-shouldered man. The draft horse was the largest creature she'd ever seen, and it was impossible not to stare. Colibri liked deer, the way they would innocently stare at her before shyly bounding away -- enough to avoid hunting them for the most part, and instead satisfy her hunger on smaller creatures such as hares and lemmings. Still, she had never considered capturing a deer and riding around on it. What a ridiculous notion. She had legs, she could walk wherever she needed to go. And yet, wasn't that the main reason horses were kept around? "I, ah... don't know how to raise anything other than plants," she added after a moment, feeling as though she should qualify her curiosity. The horse did frighten her, but she found herself trusting in the stranger's promise that she would not be harmed. She swallowed anxiously before continuing, "...My name is Colibri."
