sweet and sour

She had escaped the world to get rid of the creatures that seemed to believe they possessed intelligence and yet in her solitude one of those creatures seemed to have found her. She had caught the soft padding of paws on the crisp autumn leaves and yet she didn't stir, not even when that voice spoke up and the ownered was identified as male. The words he spoke made her pin her ears back as her heckles began to raise, showing the spark of annoyance at the compliments that he'd so kindly placed at her paws. She sat there in the silence letting the moment drag on as she wished that the creature would just move on.. and yet he never did.

Quick as a snake she snapped her head to the side and growled a warning to the boy who was so far away and yet too close for her. Her words bit at the male as she spoke, "And what draws you to find such a pretty little lass all alone on a nice fine day." she mimicked the stranger, her eyes dark and seeping with hatred, not at the male but everything he seemed to represent. The stronger hand in almost any relationship, the power to make and to break. Was he too here to show her what her worth was, such a pretty little thing, all alone with no one to help her.
