Stepping onto the deck she watched the grey hued female join her. She was happy to give up the bottle, and toast to such an occasion. Anu watched her face, for a reaction that would give away the taste of the alcohol. But there wasn’t much of a change, meaning that it wouldn’t be as strong as some of the other’s she had tried.
To the new. Anu took the bottle, as it was her turn to swig from it. The liquid hit her lips, and washed over her tongue. It was a little bitter at first, but then melted in her mouth with a fruity after taste. It was warm in her stomach, but didn’t burn on the way down. It was pleasant, like the weather the company, and of course there was always the view.
Smiling at Geneva, Anu walked to the edge. The glass that had once held the lantern room enclosed was gone, and the copper roof was aged and green. But the railing was still intact, and supported her weight as she leaned against it, eyes looking out over the water.
Its breath taking. The words could have been lost in the large sky that surrounded them, but there was something that made Anu sure they had been heard.
