the gold rush was a lie

(ooc, I think Miriette is actually younger than him.. by like a month.)

Miriette hadn't even realized that she must have let one of the soft sobs escape until the sound of the other confronted her with the truth. She dashed her tears away quickly as she turned to gaze at the male, not really knowing what to do. She'd always been stronger than this, never really letting others see her cry if she ever did, but being caught outright was beyond embarrassing to the girl. She shook her head and wrung her hands quietly before she finally asked. "Haves you ever tries and makes one notice yous.. but realize it no use.." She hated the way her voice sounded, she hated the broken English and bad grammar, everything just made her seem weaker.. and yet she knew she was strong.

Stuck in a moment with nowhere to go she'd done the only thing she could do, she'd broken down. She couldn't even answer a simple question anymore, giving the boy some strange question instead. She was hopeless and utterly useless for now. She just wished that she had been left alone to wallow in her own misery than have another find her being such a pitiful excuse for a pack mate. What did it matter, she was ranked as the most pitiful thing in the pack already and there was no getting around that.
