Firefly found amusement in the fact that the male was studying her as though he didn't know her, though she knew that it was indeed true. The male had come after she'd left the pack and quite possibly he belonged there more than she did. She smiled slightly as he laughed at her words, she decided to ignore him for a moment and turned back to the mare as the beast was giving her another glare of dislike. She bared her fangs slightly at the mare, no real ill feeling towards the creature, just liking to keep things in line.

When the male decided to speak again Firefly couldn't help but smile as she raised a brow, ignoring his comanding act of authority as she chuckled. "So you're Ruri's boy.." From the way that Ruri had spoke of the male Firefly had realized that perhaps he wasn't just a friend, or maybe one day wouldn't be. She hadn't said anything to Ruri for there was no reason to but that didn't stop her from being a little haughty with the male that felt that he needed to push rank in the pack. "So they gave you rule of the barn..." Her tail flicked back and forth in amusement as she chuckled. "Prince of stalls and straw.." She smirked at the young boy as she walked a distance away from the mare and the male.

The mare and Firefly might not like eachother but when Firefly was in the field the beast often came to join her and Firefly would not need to seek the mare out. Firefly had a feeling that the horse knew what she was there for and she got just as much enjoyment out of the whole ordeal as Firefly did. The two stubborn women were made for eachother, even if their dislike of one another ran deeper for the moment. When Heath spoke his mind on her words Firefly couldn't help but roll her eyes as she stated. "Who said anything about wanting their lives, I was just schooling an ignorant schoolboy, and it seems that your title wouldn't even exist if I hadn't corralled your charges."

She let the silver halter jingle between her fingers as she watched Heath attempting to feed the horse. She smiled slightly, knowing the female quite well, wondering if he did too. The mare moved closer to investigate the sweet treat, her lips hoovering over the apple as the whiskers delicately felt the shape of the object in his paw. Suddenly without warning the mare lashed out at the male, her ears pinned back as she attempted to take a chunk out of his arm instead of the apple. Firefly did nothing but laugh, having learned long ago that the mare realized that there were always strings attached to what laid in the palm of the packmates.
