For the first time in a while, Ajax felt confident about the control he had over shifting. He didn't especially like the sensation, or the way it seemed to take forever to completely change, but he felt sure that there would be no more eratic changing. It'd been nearly a year since he'd become infected, but when under stress, he usually still had strange shifting spasms, and once he started shifting, he couldn't stop until he was finished. So, if it was up to him, he stuck to his Lupine form. It was the form he was most comfortable in, after all.
It was peculiar, the way he felt he had some impending doom. It was the main reason he had sought out a pack in the first place. He'd been rejected from several packs already, but this time, he felt confident. He had himself under complete control, now. There would be no sudden transformations. If possible, he would avoid ever changing again.
The stocky wolf shifted his paws, a cold winter wind biting at his reddish brown fur as he peered through the trees. Now.. all he had to do was alert someone of his presence. Naturally he felt a bit jittery, but he masked it easily. The loner inhaled deeply, then let out a questioning howl, as if to ask if there was anyone out there. He could clearly smell the border of the pack's territory, and had taken great care to keep his distance from it. Some people were just extremely territorial.
