lost into the weight of gravity

Her eyes caught a flicker of movement, tawny gold against nature's green. The darker-furred wolf caught her breath, watching with growing anticipation as the Dahlian figure moved to meet her through the field. Could that graceful youth really be one of her brothers...? His greeting left no doubt in her mind, but found awe in its place. Conor...!

She was surprised to see how tall he had grown. As he closed the distance between them, she noticed such maturity in his steady gaze, and confidence in his gait... She had feared for his life when she fled, had felt such unsettling guilt when imagining what their father could do to an unprotected Conor. Colibri had worried about him more than anyone else in Dahlia, feeling that he was the most fragile, the most like her... And somehow, he had done the complete opposite. Conor was almost unrecognizable, if not for the gentle warmth shining in his eyes, the same sweet and caring expression.

"It's good to see you too," she replied truthfully, smiling up at her estranged sibling. It was a regret of hers that they had never spent more time together. There was always something that came in the way, even if the blame was on her own lack of initiative. A faint blush colored beneath her pale cheeks as he casually remarked on her appearance -- surely her drab pelt could only remind him of their father, and yet, he was so kind to her anyway. "...! Coming from you, that's certainly a compliment... You've grown into such a handsome young man," she added shyly, proud and a little wistful at the same time. She should have been there for him.

Coli was feeling a bit homesick at the moment, although unsure of where 'home' was supposed to be. "How... how is everything? Are you and Emwe safe? Haku, is he...?" The questions spilled forth, curiosity getting the better of her. She had been ignorant for too long.
