It's fine. Big Grin Sorry for the delay. And I will have to keep this vague—I won't be sure how his thread with Haku affects him until it's finished, lol. (367.)

He had grown up with everyone's eyes on him—he had always had scrutiny from his mother (which probably fostered his love for attention), and everyone else seemed to have a fascination on the son of the demon who had rekindled the war between Dahlia de Mai and Inferni (and countless other violent happenings, but King was not as cognizant of). He had even had the attention of his father—something that both thrilled and frightened him—and which was beginning to change the boy. It was very subtle, but someone like his mother, who had been with him since the beginning, would recognize it. There was a look to the boy's vibrant eyes that was a little more chilling, and there was something in his energy. It was all what belied thought processes that were becoming darker by the week, though he rarely allowed themselves to escape through words. King was cunning, and he knew that keeping quiet would be best for everything right now.

As for today, he had gone swimming; he was still a kid, after all. The growing wolf had wandered down to the beach, meandering among the sands before swimming out into a shallow bay. After a few hours he was tired and hungry, he began to go back the way he came. He crossed up the cliffs of the ravine and up to the very end where the den was. There was a chance that his mother had some extra fish or other food lying around—otherwise, King might move through and go hunting.

His thoughts deviated from the rumbling of his stomach when he saw the mostly-cleaned coyote skull right in front of the den entrance. Though perhaps he thought that it was a set-up for conversation (or at least some kind of foreshadowing), it was not something that he could overlook. He could scent his mother's presence in the den so he padded in, looking at his mother with his azure eyes. "Who is our guest?" he asked, glancing back to the remains of the beheaded coyote. King usually didn't foster much of a sense of humor, but it did appear sometimes—and what a morbid sense it was.
