The Valley wolfess' ears flicked forward to capture the sound of his words over the sounds of the steady rhythm of rain outside. This time, he was closer and he spoke directly to her. She did not know if having his full, undivided attention was a good thing or a bad thing. And she definitely did not like the fact that he was closer now. She had no way of defending herself from him should he choose to strike her again. But she did not cringe away from his presence. Caprica wouldn't give him the satisfaction, and she would maintain as much of her dignity as possible.

At the mention of possibly eating, her traitorous stomach issued a deep rumble. Caprica closed her eyes for a moment and her jaw tensed, briefly humiliated by her body betraying itself. But she opened her eyes once more to regard him steadily. She had no choice and no defenses in this situation, but she would not allow her own sense of shame to defeat her, because he had already defeated her in every other way.

Her heart was pounding as a result of his nearness, and she almost did not want to know what his questions were. But at the same time, having this twisted little interview might grant her with some information and shed some light on why he had abducted her in the first place. Caprica stared at him for a moment more and swallowed the fear, swallowed the fierce need to tear at him to get away, and strived for calm. Then she nodded her assent once quietly, waiting to see if he would actually go through with this.
