~As The Memories Fade~
#1
The small wolf cocked her head in an absurd manor, and she
Yawned. Something was different. She pulled herself upwards
with ease- and sat on the bed, looking at her surroundings-
sampling them. Everything looked the same as it had been for
the past month. Calm. Peaceful. Then the thought came to her-
and she knew what was different. She no longer felt the continual
pain of aching bones and sore wounds, and she felt... happy.
She stretched, white fur escaping- reaching for the air- before it
fell down by her side again- in thick tendrils.

The shadow of doubt in her mind had long since been pushed away.
There was nothing to be afraid of.
She was free.
Cambria had healed her physical bodice with her amazing talent-
and Savina had healed her inside- the most delicate part of her.
She had only met two in the pack- and she knew that
the others would be just as nice. She jumped of the bed- her
agility suprised herself- how long had it been since she had been
able to do that? It seemed like an age.
She was wobbly on her feet- like a newborn elk- her legs
were not used to walking- and she found they kept falling from
beneath her. She managed to get to the door- and pushed it open with
her black nose. The pup peered this way and that- to find nobody was
there.

And then she was off- sliding down the stairs like some kind of crazy maniac-
slipping and sliding yet howling with glee. She rushed to the front door like
a prisoner escaping from thier cell- and she ripped it open with her teeth with
such force that the door rebounded on her- sending her flying out into the open
air.
She never knew it could hurt so much- the sun.
It almost blinded her- and she had to squeeze her lids shut tightley.
She gasped- and spoke; almost to herself- 'I thought the Sun was my friend!'
She managed to blink a couple of times- and gradually- her ruby-red eyes
grew more accumstomed to the light.
Belle was very glad that the world had not changed since she was gone.
This wolfess lived to run- it was her refuge- her happiness. How she loved
running... the freedom-feeling it gave her as she rushed through the air-
It was undescribable. Her paws started bounding- her body lifting and swaying
rythmitacly with the movement of her feet. She had not run for what seemed
like a lifetime- and she was anxious to be off.

She galloped like a horse- jumping and twisting in the breeze- drinking in
the sunlight, the air. The summer flowers and trees rustled as she winded her
way around them- she wouldn't dare hurt them. The wildlife of summer blossemed
all around her- and then she realised.
Summer.
She had not realised what the season was- as she was cooped up in that room
for a month, but then again- she had not had the chance to be outside.
Belle was now a year old.
It hadn't been the best of times for her- but atleast she been able to survive this
long. She came to a halt- and gave a medolic-like howl. She had found her place
in the world, and she was here to stay.
