Heath felt that there was always something for him to learn, always something to surprise him. Even if it was only what they spoke of now, certainly not anything life altering, but it still made him think. The male thought on things a bit longer now that he had passed his second birthday. He felt the unruly emotions that had concurred and controlled him in the past fading away, and if he understood the biology of it he would know that it was his body that was balancing and gaining control over hormones and energy. He was calmer now, and far more controlled. So understanding the difference between the street and the concrete sidewalks mattered to him, as when he was younger he would care little about it just as he would care less whether the fence was intact or not. He nodded at Niro, who seemed to have the same level headed-ness as Heath did when it came to these hands on things. Course it was not as adrenaline pumping as scaling a cliff (which Heath remembered vividly), but it still held a degree of mechanical know-how. Oh, alright. Yeah that would be very helpful. Heath imagined how sturdy and well made the fence would be if the humans had just used it the first time around, since they seemed to have enough of it to made a whole city.

They worked well together, and in a knowing silence Heath pushed the pole in place and then waited for Niro to bring the rocks to help him sturdy the fence post. They got it into place quickly, and at Niro confirmation Heath gave a nod, I think it will there was satisfaction in his tone, pleased with the job, even if it was just one of many that would need to be fixed through out the season. He wiped his hands on his pants, then spoke about what it would take to complete the task. I've got some wire, to string along between these three posts. He spoke as he pointed to the two posts that sat on either side of the one that they had just adjusted.

As Heath walked over to Lumiere, opening one of the many pouches that were attached to the saddle the mare wore he asked, How is the training going, for the bird? as a spool of wire and old cutters that had to have rust polished away were grabbed from the bag.
