Devastation. Pure utter devastation. He had killed something, and the idea of it made his heart sink low into his gut and pound so powerfully that he thought that he would throw up. It was so small, and he was much bigger and he shouldn’t have touched it. It was so very wrong, and the black marked boy had known better then to push him off the leaf. Blue eyes looked at Denali as he squeaked and moved close to see if it was alive. Alder didn’t want to look, didn’t want to think about it. He knew that no one could survive such a fall, and there were tears the began to fill the corners of his eyes.
Denali spoke, explaining that the snail was okay. Alder looked up from the ground that he had been concentrating on so that he wouldn’t vomit and stole a glance at the other pup’s face. His breath was still a bit fast, and he found it hard to believe the small male. Sniffling he peered out to see the snail among the grasses, a huge sigh escaped his lungs and he thought that he would pass out from the relief. Oh thank goodsness He spoke with great respite.
His mind was still swirling around when the request was made and Alder had to shake his head in attempts of concentrating and he thought it best to find something else as well. He got to his paws, a little shake at first, and then gave the pup a nod, Ookay He fell into the clumsy step of his new friend and they ventured off to another part of the yard in the hopes of finding a brand new adventure. Alder’s only hope was that it would be less daring then touching a snail. That was far too extreme for his little heart.
