For Sanuye. Ohh, and would you be okay with backdating this a few days? wc:314

Ehno had finally convinced himself to get away from the pack lands for a little while. He'd confined himself within the Dreamer's borders for long enough and needed to scratch that adventurous itch he'd been ignoring for too long. The Marino had at first reasoned that he needed to remain within the pack so that he could be there for the birth of his sister's second litter. Yet as the puppies were weeks old now, he could no longer use that excuse to rationalize his stubborn refusal to wander any longer. So he finally gathered a few things in his traveling bag and took off, but not toward his usual haunt of the large city. No, traveling out west was easier. He could distance himself from his problems--or more accurately, his responsibilities--and push them from his mind with much less effort. Was that the coward's way out? Certainly. But he wasn't much more than a coward these days anyway.

It was mid-afternoon, and the sun had brought a touch of warmth to the steadily chilling temperatures. His journey had been uneventful so far, and he decided to stop for a short rest and determine what to do with himself from there. The Dreamer sat beneath an old tree in a sparsely populated area of the forest. The trees thinned out just ahead of him and he could see the strange barbed fence that wound around part of the AniWayan territory a short distance from there. Idly, he entertained the thought of paying his friendly neighbors a visit, but had no particular reason to do so. Perhaps it would be good for pack relations, but he had nothing more to offer them right now aside from a friendly greeting. Regardless, he would be skirting around the pack's boundaries in order to continue westward. He could decide what to do when he resumed his aimless little trek.
