For Sanuye. Ohh, and would you be okay with backdating this a few days? wc:314

Ehno had finally convinced himself to get away from the pack lands for a little while. He'd confined himself within the Dreamer's borders for long enough and needed to scratch that adventurous itch he'd been ignoring for too long. The Marino had at first reasoned that he needed to remain within the pack so that he could be there for the birth of his sister's second litter. Yet as the puppies were weeks old now, he could no longer use that excuse to rationalize his stubborn refusal to wander any longer. So he finally gathered a few things in his traveling bag and took off, but not toward his usual haunt of the large city. No, traveling out west was easier. He could distance himself from his problems--or more accurately, his responsibilities--and push them from his mind with much less effort. Was that the coward's way out? Certainly. But he wasn't much more than a coward these days anyway.

It was mid-afternoon, and the sun had brought a touch of warmth to the steadily chilling temperatures. His journey had been uneventful so far, and he decided to stop for a short rest and determine what to do with himself from there. The Dreamer sat beneath an old tree in a sparsely populated area of the forest. The trees thinned out just ahead of him and he could see the strange barbed fence that wound around part of the AniWayan territory a short distance from there. Idly, he entertained the thought of paying his friendly neighbors a visit, but had no particular reason to do so. Perhaps it would be good for pack relations, but he had nothing more to offer them right now aside from a friendly greeting. Regardless, he would be skirting around the pack's boundaries in order to continue westward. He could decide what to do when he resumed his aimless little trek.

Sanuye was so glad to be laying at her home with the skins along the ground. They provided her with comfort when she slept and she no longer had to clean her fur for getting it dirty in the den. A soft yawn passed her lips as she began to crawl out of her home and out into the air. She could feel the sun beating down on her fur as she waited for the warmth to come to the land. The coyote knew it would be a while, so it wouldn’t hurt to have a fire going to keep her warm. She moved the ashes out of her fire pit and then began to stack up the logs. She knew she would need some kindling as well as something to eat. The hybrid paused and looked to the pile of logs sitting in the fire pit. She knew what she needed to do now.

Sanuye began to shift into her optime form and could feel her body beginning to be in pain. Because she was not born with the ability to shift, it was much harder on her and caused her a bit more pain. Once he body was done changing, she laid on her back, just to rest from the whole half hour that it took her to go through the process. Her tail laid at her side as she stared up at the sky. The clouds drifted by as a smile came to the coyote’s face. Once she could feel her body relaxing and her figure standing up, she raised herself up and grabbed a small spear she brought from home. She was going to need her meal before she got the fire started.

Sanuye moved away from her home and began to wander around the tribe lands looking for a place where she could find some prey, although she still wasn’t the greatest hunter in the world. She passed along the near the borders and paused when she caught the scent of someone. It was not a member of the tribe and the hybrid became curious. She passed along the trees and continued to sniff the air as she felt her skirt flowing along with her legs. ”Hello? Is someone there?”

He had to admit that getting away from the pack lands had been a good idea, despite how stubborn he'd been about it recently. Surrounding himself with the the unfamiliar had a way of letting his worries wash away, likely because it allowed him to focus on getting to know what was around him, making the unfamiliar familiar. Ehno was feeling calmer now than he had in some time. Before he knew it he began to doze off, head resting against the bark of the old tree and amber eyes slowly drifting shut.

His light dozing didn't last for long, however, as the sound of a nearby voice managed to snatch him away from the brink of full sleep. He hadn't quite caught the words, but he was certain he'd heard someone speak. The Dreamer blinked his eyes back into focus as he sat up and began to look around around the area. His ears picked up the faint sounds of footsteps nearby. Ehno stood then, brushing the dirt from his legs before snatching up his travel bag. Now was a good a time as any to put an end to his brief rest, now that it seemed he'd been discovered.

The Marino moved through the trees, keeping an eye out for whoever had spoken. It didn't take long for the coyote woman to come into sight, dressed in a lengthy skirt and carrying a spear in her hands. Amber eyes studied the weapon with a mix of curiosity and wariness. "Hello, there," he greeted, lifting his free hand in a friendly gesture. "You're one of the AniWaya members?" More than likely she was, given their proximity to the tribe's lands. The Italian man had only ever met one other AniWayan, though he was almost certain their packs were on good terms.

Sanuye continued along looking for whoever it was that came near the AniWaya borders. So far she wasn’t finding anything but birds flying around. Finally she saw the male come into view and paused. Why was she running into all these males? The coyote always got nervous around them and wondered why they kept coming around her. She gave a soft sigh before setting her spear against a tree. She saw the look of caution in his eyes and she didn’t want it to look like she was out to get anyone. The hybrid was a gentle girl and would never harm anyone, in fact she would be the first one to run away from danger. She paused before beginning to move closer to him.

Sanuye heard him greet her and it was only fitting that she greet him back. Since she was in her home tribe, she knew the land better than he did and if she needed to run then she would know where to go. ”H…Hello…” The coyote was ranting at herself in her head. Just what was wrong with her? Did she need to act so shy that it ended up looking like she was flirting with every male she ran into? That was not the conclusion she was looking for and didn’t want the males thinking that too. The hybrid moved to his side and took a seat. She was still nervous and she didn’t even look at him in the eyes.

Sanuye moved her ears as he asked if she was from AniWaya. She nodded and moved her gaze to him, but only out of the corner of her eyes. ”Yes… I’m a fire tender of AniWaya.” The coyote looked over the male with her silvers eyes and waited for him to ask her another question. She wasn’t great at starting conversations.

Sorry for the delay and the shortness. D:

The brief tough of wariness vanished from the Marino when the hybrid girl set aside her spear. Golden eyes examined it for a moment as it rested against the tree. He wondered what she had been carrying it for. Defense maybe, as she patrolled the borders? Yet she set it aside too quickly for that to be its purpose. Hunting, then? It seemed plausible enough. Ehno returned his gaze to the girl when she greeted him in turn.

He followed her lead and took a seat as well, setting his bag at his feet. The AniWayan seemed quite determined to avoid his gaze. Between this and her staggered hello, Ehno could easily see that she was shy in nature. It made her quite the polar opposite to the cheery and outgoing Marino. He hoped that he could help her brush away some of that shyness without being too overbearing himself. He offered her a warm smile, hoping to show her that there was nothing to worry about.

She confirmed his assumption about her being a member of the neighboring pack, also mentioning her position as a fire tender. "Fire tending, huh?" he echoed. The Dreamer was unsure about what that would entail, beyond the obvious creation of fires. Whatever the meaning behind it was, the girl had obviously felt it important enough to mention. "Have you lived here long?" he asked, motioning toward the tribe lands with a brief nod of his head.

Sanuye kept a slight gaze on her spear. While she never was very good at hunting, she wanted to make sure that no one would take it. She needed something to use otherwise she worried that she would end up going hungry. She wanted to find someone to help her learn better. She wished she could run into Nayati again but that thought seemed unlikely. For now she tried not to think of it seeing as she had some company with her. The coyote turned her attention back to the male as she tried not to think of her own needs.

Sanuye was able to see that he could tell she was a shy one. She couldn’t help it as it was her nature. Even back in the Great Tribe she was like this. She was always shy around males and she had no idea why. She was never meaning to do it to get their attention either. It always just seemed to happen. The coyote saw him produce the warm smile on his face and it helped her to break out of her shell a bit. She smiled back and raised her figure up a bit, more so to face him. The hybrid looked over him more now that she could see him better. He was different shades of gray and had nice flowing brown hair. She shook her head gently before lowering her head down a bit, her silver gaze, still on him though.

Sanuye nodded when he mentioned her job back to her. She felt that fire tending was one of the most important duties in the tribe and made sure she stayed to them any chance she could get. He then asked her if she had been in the tribe long. She gently shook her head and smiled. ”I have only lived her for a short time but I was a member of the tribe AniWaya originated from.”

Ehno was no stranger to dealing with the shyness of others. Being so perpetually outgoing, the Marino had encounter so many varying personalities that he could hardly keep count of them. It was a welcome change of pace for him when he first took to adventuring across Italy, and eventually when he made his way out to Spain. He quickly learned to adapt to interacting with various types of people, and the shy ones were particularly interesting. He would always try his best to not overwhelm them with his usual talkative self, and allowed them to let down their barriers when they were comfortable. It seemed to be working well enough with the quiet AniWayan, who offered him a smile in return and perked up a little.

The Dreamer had almost been expecting to hear that the coyote girl had indeed been living within the AniWayan borders for some time, but she shook her head in a silent disagreement. She was quick to elaborate on her response, stating that while she had only been around these parts recently, she did hail from a tribe that AniWaya originated from. Ehno perked up a bit at this information, finding it quite interesting. "Oh? I didn't realize that the tribe had come from somewhere else. I imagine that the original tribe is far away?" It made sense, if he were to think about it, but until now he had always imagined that AniWaya had been its own unit. The fact that this was news to him came as no surprise, considering how little he knew of his western neighbors as it was. Still, the tidbit of information the girl had offered him served to further entice his curiosity. Perhaps now he would finally be able to learn some more about the friendly tribe.

Sanuye could tell that he knew about her shy behavior. A gentle male like this one was sure to bring a bit of shyness out of some other females instead of her. She was trying to break out of her shell but was finding it a bit difficult. She was at a lost for words and was unsure of what to talk about with him. Some ideas came into her head, like which pack he was from or what he was doing all the way out here by the AniWaya tribe. The coyote figured she would be able to wait for him to say something first before she spoke. While she was waiting, she took a better look over the male and his figure. He remained in a relaxed mood with her. It seemed he was kind and knew how to deal with others who might have been more shy. She watched as the smile appeared on his face. She wagged the tip of her tail as she gave a smile back. The hybrid was still unsure of what to say, so she just waited patiently. She fixed up the dream catcher necklace she wore so that it was back in its original position. She also took the time to fix the feathers in her hair. Some of them were coming loose and she wanted to make it so they looked better in her hair. Thankfully she didn’t have to fix the feathers that were standing up in the back. She didn’t want to take all the time she had away from the male who was in her company just to fix up something as trival as her feathers. She turned her silver gaze back to the male as she placed her hands in her lap. She took one glance back to her weapon to make sure no one had stolen it before she sat up straight and fixed her attention on him.

Sanuye was not surprised by the fact that he was not aware that some of the members from AniWaya were once members to the Great Tribe which it had branched off from. She smiled and moved her ears up as he spoke. She nodded. ”Yes they are quite a distance away from her. I traveled her with my companion.” She was of course talking about her horse Niyol. She loved him and was thankful that he was able to help her make the journey out here to the AniWayan borders. She then turned back to Ehno. She was not completely done with telling him everything. ”The Great Tribe is where some of the original members of AniWaya originated as well as the traditions we use here. There aren’t too many of us now, but there are still some members who are from the Great Tribe that make their way over here to be a part of AniWaya. I am one of them. Chief Dawali was also from the Great Tribe.” The hybrid was unsure if the male had met her chief before or not, but she felt the need to give an example of another member who had come here from the Great Tribe. She relaxed her posture a bit and waited. She was sure he would have some more questions about the Great Tribe and maybe even some of the members from there. She waited to see what he would say.
