Ookami had been sleeping under his maple tree when he woke up. He didn’t wake like he normally did. This one was a gentle awakening with a strong feeling within him. It was something that he had never felt before. He had felt this feeling but not as strong a couple days ago. Now it was uncontrollable. He felt the need to shift forms. He didn’t understand though. Ookami wasn’t a Luperci. Was he? He thought back and then it hit him. When Jace dragged him, she broke his skin. Then when she was cleaning his wounds. His mouth dropped open. I’m a… Luperci. The thought flew through his mind several times, but each time it entered his head he couldn’t believe it. He got up, forgetting about his injured leg for the moment. He stumbled a bit and his vision clouded over. He was a Luperci. This is everything that he never wanted to happen. He didn’t see where he was going… He just had to get away. He ran as fast as he could.

He didn’t notice he was past the borders of Phoenix Valley until he stopped and looked around. Even with his clouded vision he could tell he wasn’t in the Valley anymore. He staggered again and took off once more. He tripped over something and rolled. His ankle slammed into a stump of a tree. He let out a shocked and pain-filled cry. He got up, his eyes rolling back for a moment. He thought he was going to pass out but the feeling passed. Am I making to big a deal out of this? He couldn’t tell.. No one in his pack had been Luperci. Anyone that wanted to join that was Luperci was turned away. And now he was one. He felt like he was even more rejected than he did before. He took off running again. Not knowing, or caring, in which direction he was going. He wanted to be far away from the Valley right now. He knew he would return at one point but he didn’t know when. He couldn’t leave Adonia behind. He ran and ran, not stopping or resting.

The urge to shift was unbearable now. He didn’t know how to shift though so he was trying to power through the feeling. He finally slowed to a walk and collapsed. He was so tiered. He tried to stand but couldn’t get up. He felt his body shaking uncontrollably. He was in shock. He knew it. He closed his eyes, his body shaking crazily. He couldn’t stop himself from shaking. He felt cold and like he was about to pass out, and he did.
He didn’t know how long he had been out, it was dark now so it must have been a long time. It had just been morning when he found out he was Luperci. The thought hit him again. ”Oh my God.” He felt woozy again but he managed to hold onto his conscious. He stood up and looked around. He couldn’t see anything, this was strange.. His vision at night was usually very good. He tried to walk forward but he ran into what seemed to be a tree. He tried all directions and finally found the one that would let him walk. He bolted forward, once again not caring where he was going.

He approached what seemed to be another pack’s land. He was at full speed and didn’t feel like trying to stop. He just kept running. The scent of another pack was overpowering but he didn’t care. He just kept going. Ookami came to something that looked like a cave. This would be good shelter. He thought to himself. He walked inside. He couldn’t see anything, for his vision began to cloud again. He blinked furiously but still they would not clear. He decided to just keep walking. The path came to a fork and he took the path that led to the left.

He finally could see and what he did see shocked him. Twisted, angry faces glared down at him. They had glowing red eyes and a snarling look on their face. He whimpered and shut his eyes tight. He ran forward and next thing he knew he was falling. He hit the ground hard and something sunk into the pad of his paw. He yelped out and then another something sharp stuck into his side, and another behind his ear. He looked towards the direction he had just come from. There had been a slight drop down and Ookami had been running at such a fast speed that he flew off of it. He got up to start walking and he looked at the ground. The faces were in pieces on the ground. He groaned and whimpered and walked forward. The sharp thing in his paw was caught on something and it tore the pad of his paw. He could feel blood rush out. He yelped out in pain and felt tears begin to flood his eyes. He sat down, he gave up. He lifted his maw to the ceiling where the angry faces glared down at him. He let out a long and scared, pain-filled howl. It echoed around him and he winced at the loudness of it. He hoped it carried out to someone that could help him. He sat there, quivering in fear. There were shadows creeping around him, his worst nightmare was coming true.
