It was not uncommon for the sable-shaded woman to contemplate Anathema and just how well she fit in here. Though the coyote did not feel shunned as she had in Inferni, there was still something amiss -- Eris had few friends within her new packlands. The most extensive contact she had was with Tayui, the woman she met just before being contained to her cave with the children for some weeks -- since then, she had primarily spent time with Sirius, whose bond seemed primarily born of their shared family -- Eris did not know what to call their relationship, but she knew Sirius's mother was the child of a wolf apparently also sired by Salvaged Eternity. She had shared this with him, and though they had spent some time discussing this shared heritage, Eris could not help but feel Sirius was less interested in it than she was. Perhaps it was simply his manner -- he did not seem to feel much other than indifference toward anything.

Despite her lack of integration with the pack, she did not feel as if she was completely out of place here -- on the contrary, she felt more at home than she had anywhere else. There was a general quiet in the caves, as always -- despite their numbers, there were many corridors and rooms in which to get lost, and some preferred the above-ground areas, anyway. The hybrid leaned against the wall of the main room of what she and Larkspur had claimed as the place to raise their family, her legs stretched comfortably outward, contemplating the odd quiet in this very room. She was not used to the children being able to roam about on their own, and though she had forbidden them from straying terribly far from the entrance of the caves, the hybrid did not fear for their safety. There were many pack-members, and Sirius was about -- though he claimed not to like the little ones, she had no doubt that in the event of actual danger, he would protect them, if only for the fact that they were her children. Whether this was truthful of the tawny male's character had yet to be seen, but it was a belief of Eris's, anyway.
