(p) saw the wave of the future

Even if the children expressed a desire to visit their coyote relatives, Larkspur would frown upon the idea. He hated what those savages had done to Dahlia, hated that they were responsible for forcing him out of a rather pleasant existence within Dahlia. Haku’s outing by his own son had been a turning point the dark wolf had not fully recognized. If he had, he would have left the pack long before Conor spat self-righteous nonsense at him. He would see; one day Inferni would destroy Dahlia and Larkspur would laugh. The warning had been given. Conor ignored it.

Décor was not within his vocabulary, a womanly thing he had left in her capable hands. Larkspur only truly desired comfort, and he could care less what came after that. They had a home, one their children would use until they grew independent. Having more would encourage this behavior, which suited him just fine. Despite his inadequacies as an intellect, Larkspur was a good father and knew this would be proved when his children crossed the line from puppy into adult. “I’ll figure somethin’ out,” he said, and turned back to the bone between his paws. Content to chew on this, he settled into the silence that the pair had become comfortable with.
