A Stroll with a Stranger

Large black paws padded the hard ground, softly crushing any undergrowth in the female's path. Light filtered through the evergreen canopy to dapple her pelt. Layla's white fur gleamed in the spots of sunlight. Her blue eyes could not pinpoint the sun from here in the Dampwoods, but the sun was just below its peak. From the glimpses of sky, she could pinpoint a cloud or two, but otherwise it was a clear sky. The shade cooled off the area from what warmth the sun offered. Between the trees here, there was relatively no wind to speak of. If there had been a breeze, Layla would be shivering.

The strange canine had decided it was a lovely day for a stroll and her paws had lead her here, to the southwest boundary of what she now knows as the Dampwoods. If she traveled another fifteen minutes on her course, she would be in Arachnea's Revenge. The female guessed it was named after some horrible spider that dwelled within those trees. She wasn't so keen on visiting that neck of the woods. Spiders creeped her out and sent a chill down her spine. As did most things with an exoskeleton, except for a praying mantis.

Layla had been walking in her optime form today. She needed a break from being a larger than normal pseudo wolf and she felt most at home being a bipedal pseudo wolf. Black dyed fur stretched from her toes and fingers up over her knees and elbows as well as tipped her fluffy tail. Black ran down her back as long black hair and red hung in front of her masked face. A simple red loincloth hung from her hips. The chance any wolf would come upon her in this state was unlikely, but she was ready to ditch the humble cloth and shift to secui incase.
