      She had seen this reaction before, and already her expectations for this conversation had been ruined. It was not the way she had meant to get to know the younger Lykoi relative, but her mouth was a dangerous weapon that could not always control. She was quick to react when the topic touched her personal life. She seemed to bring Itachi into everything lately. It was strange, for in the very start it had not been so incredibly bad, but this was an ache that grew over time; a tumour steadily spreading.

      
To hear that the young female assumed she was in pain made a frown crack through the beauty of her face. The words of hope continued to flow, and she considered the possibility that the other simply was a little bit dim. She knew nothing more than her life had offered to show her, and perhaps she had just been lucky. She was a young adult now, responsible for her own destiny. It was a shame if she still believed the world was such a pretty place to live in. It was wrong; it was ugly and hideous and everyone had to look out for themselves.
