The little things in life

For Skye. Backdated to June 29th. This should be a pretty quick thread ;o

The coywolf's shack was a mess, moreso than usual. The past few days he had allowed his rambunctious children to run around the house which stored all of his things.. which turned out to be a horrible idea. The young ones were just like their father, in that way, wanting to touch everything and break several others in the process. Things lay scattered across the floor, the rickety tables, even strung along the staircase. The moment the coywolf entered the scene that morning, when Skye decided to take the kids out of his hands for the day, the scene before him made him glad they were gone.

Bangle never wanted to admit that he wasn't all that ready for children, but his mate seemed to be. Still, with Shawchert gone she felt a tremendous weight of responsibility on her shoulders, which left him with the burden of looking after the kids for most of the time. Today they'd be leaving the safety of the pack for the first time, and though the man worried some he also encouraged the red headed woman to take them. It gave him peace of mind, if only temporarily, that he could finally be on his own once again.

Still, it wasn't all that bad. Deep down, some unknown fatherly instinct made him love his children, and their mother even more. He spent less and less time in his shack, but never let go of the eerie little place. The craftsman had even thought about getting around to the tree house he intended to build for himself - only now it would be for his family to enjoy. Bangle clicked his tongue once, hands on his hips as he peered into the darkness and inspected the place. The 'f' word was still strange on his tongue, but he did not dismiss it either.

Seeing a part of the destruction left behind by the youngsters suddenly caused something to stir within his belly. It moved up to his throat and suddenly erupted into full blown laughter. His muzzle split wide and his tongue rolled out as he ushered out a long, drawn out guffaw. It was in part to release the stress that had been building within him, but also in the realization of the triplets' natural instincts. It took a few minutes for him to quiet down, though he was certain his laughter hadn't caused too much of a stir in Thornbury - the pack would be used to hearing it by now. Bending down, he spent no time in looking over the entirety of the mess the three minions made. He couldn't help but grin as he picked things up - they were just like him.
