WC: 1026 Yay Smile

The sable female had decided against moving for a little while, instead closing the heavy wooden door behind her and perching on the top step, well the porch really, her long legs resting on the steps that came off of it. She turned her head momentarily to gaze back at the house, smiling at it's imposing size, it was a fine place to live, she could not blame the other wolves for moving in, nor for her own pale daughter and red son for claiming it when they had first found it. Soran had lived in a house for much of her adult life she realised, coming to the lands when she was two years old and happily taking the offer to move into the Syemv homestead, enjoying the comfort of having a human bed to sleep in, the soft cushions of her bed being rather decandent to the dark female, she had enjoyed it while it had lasted. After that she had moved into this very house for a brief period, before sleeping in a den in the winter and simply beneath the stars on warm nights in her adopted pack. Dayna had allowed her to sleep in her den with her, along with Soran's youngest litter, the offer had been generous and the sable female had enjoyed it for a time, but whenever the night had been pleasant enough she had much preffered to sleep under the stars, something that she had always loved, especially when she had lived in the old lands. It was a bone of contention with her and Dayna, the pale lady saw it as abandonment when she left the den and stepped into the night air to sleep under the star-pinpricked inky blanket of the night sky, it was not that Soran wanted to be without the pale lady that she had come to be partners with, it was that just sometimes the cool air blowing over her dark fur, ruffling it gently and cooling her on a warm night was needed. Unfortunately due to her fur colouring she was good at storing heat, the den could get stifling at night with all six of them in there, it even remained rather too warm when Rain, Flavian, Florence and little Kiwi had moved out. So she had slept under the stars. But now the ebony wolfess could not help but like the luxury of living in the house again, her plain walls were at least hers, she had a terrace and two small rooms adjoining her own that she doubt would be claimed anytime soon, it was nice to have space and not have to dig it out herself, here it was, already pre-made, all it needed was a further clean and a lick of paint. Soon she would convert it into something perfect for herself, there was even enough room for her pups to stay if they chose to visit, perhaps not all of them, but she was sure there would be room for one of them, or perhaps two at a squeeze, if Rain came to stay she could sleep on the terrace, she had inherited her mother's ebony pelt and like for being cool at night, so no doubt that would suit her down to the ground.

Soran was just musing on this, her eyes roving around the lands without really paying attention to what she was seeing, when something caught her eye. A pale female with unusual patches of colour adorning her, she had her hair in small plaits on her head, an unusual style which made the ebony fae smile. She seemed to be approaching the house, though the female was not worried, she was downwind of her and could smell that the unusually patterned female was a member of the pack, although from her scent it seemed that she was new, just like herself. The dark lady's lips stretched into a smile as the fae came over, swinging her hips as she walked, the dark fae looked her over, she was a very pretty fae indeed, and she looked oddly familiar to her. Perhaps the dark lady knew her? The way her luck was going she kept bumping into others that she had known briefly in the past, or that were blood relations of wolves she had known, the fae wondered briefly if this was indeed another case of this. Perhaps the smiling female was indeed related to someone she had once known, there was something terribly familiar about her. Dark ears swivelled and perked up to catch the sound of the younger fae's voice as she spoke, the fae smiled again as she nodded slowly.
"I am yes, I take it you're new around here as well? I haven't seen you around before?" The lady asked, still smiling at the fae. There was something oddly familiar about this girl, something in the way she spoke. The lady looked her over properly as she perched herself on the steps nearby to her, she had the sudden urge to touch her hair, the fae had plaited her own often, but just into one large braid that rested between her shoulder blades neatly, she was curious to feel what all the small braids would feel like, they looked like they would be soft, but with a curiously bumpy texture that would be fun to trace with a long finger, feeling the pattern beneath her finger tips. But she had only just met this fae, so that would be more than innapropriate, and the dark female would hate to be considered rude or too forward, she had already upset Noah by hugging him, making him feel uncomfortable, she did not want to do so with this interesting female. She would not be too forward by touching her, no matter how interesting her tiny braids looked, inviting her to touch them. Instead she simply smiled again, reaching out and offering an ebony hand for the other female to shake.
"I'm Soran by the way, and you are?" She asked, wondering if the clue to who this familiar fae was related to would be hidden in her name.
