Dis[A]ppointed [W]ith Oblivion

She was gathering lavender again. It was still warm enough she slept outside, on the porch, but she knew soon she'd need to choose a room and begin the process of setting it up for herself. In a way she was disappointed that Soran hadn't wanted her to live in her room, but it was okay it really was. She understood the two of them needed time, they couldn't just jump headfirst into the relationship they'd once shared. Her dark love's voice rang out, and the woman's ears perked. Soran was saying that Tal was on the border? The woman let go of the fragrant lavender bouquet she was holding and took off running for the border.

She arrived on the border, taking in the sight of her son, tall and noble. Okay, well, taller than her. By a few inches. The boy was wearing blue jeans and a goofy grin, and her heart contracted painfully. She rushed forward, letting out a soft cry of disbelief and joy as she squeezed her son tightly. The boy had always been the mirror image of her, and now was hardly any different. He was slim and slender like her, had the same creamy white fur, and the same eye coloring. He even had an ear pierced. She hugged him again, then pulled back, studying him.

Her tail was wagging furiously as she stared lovingly at her son. "Where have you been? How have you been? I've missed you. Where's Liam, Soran told me about him." Questions tumbled out of her mouth one after the other as she stared at him as though he would vanish. She let out another overjoyed squeal and hugged him again, grinning widely.
