The coyote's eyes narrowed in concentration as he spun, carrying his staff strike through, following Helotes with his eyes and head when it was apparent he meant to get behind him. Now the other male had the right idea. He saw him tense for the jump and he bared his teeth, rolling to the side to dodge Helotes' attempt to tackle him. He spun the staff around now, pushing himself to a standing position with the staff. Once he was standing, he got into a ready position, and watched Helotes with a grin. He repeated his previous thought verbally: Now that's what I meant by proving yourself!
