The predessing night had been tough. On the family as a whole. Though she had been blessed with her largest surviving litter, only one of the pair was fully healthy. Jandro, a tiny, darker mimic of his father, was a strong pup. While on the other hand Dymtr, Io's favourite, was sickly and thinner in comparison. The dark boy had needed quick resusitation at first, and through the night Io remained an almost constant vigil on him, only falling into a slumber after Andrej had pledged he would wake her if anything happened. But by then it was already getting light and Io had only ended up sleeping for a few hours. Dymtr had slept soundly though, no more scares revolving around him. Although he moved slower than his brother and was a less ferocious feeder, he seemed to be relatively fine. She hadn't given much thought to the four stillborn puppies, Leon had burnt them earlier. Now only Dymtr and Jandro were left. And Aeron's pup, the woman and pup in question slept in the next room, tucked in the corner.

Io had not seen the outside world since early yesterday afternoon. And with newborn pups doing anything was impossible if it meant moving. She glanced down to the brown and black balls of fur at her side, both wiggled slightly as her body weight shifted. She frowned, purely because she had heard Xyza come in early in the morning and Analise had warned her of what had happened. The russet and white girl feared that Xyza feared interfering with the pups and had not yet visited. One second would not matter, Io thought quickly. After all they were coated thicking in the furs the slept in. Io stood, ignoring the boy's weak barks and she moved briskly out of the closet, nosing the door open she called down the hall way. 'Xyza'. Before returning to her sons.
