Ako shuddered against the blowing winds; they sure as hell didn’t help keep him warm that’s for sure. It was getting late and the old jackal was starting to feel the coldness more so than normal. His left fore paw was aching immensely and he knew it wouldn’t belong before he was yelping in pain. Besides, he was having trouble seeing, yeah it was getting dark, but that didn’t stop him from walking.
Just gritting his teeth the old scavenger barely noticed the brightly red-colored skulls littering the ground. They were wolf skulls. Stopping wasn’t hard, it was whether he landed over that lovely decorated line denoting a boundary, he was sure of it.
Managing to slide his body down to the freezing ground just millimeters from the line he let out a howl, it wasn’t loud, so it quickly got sucked up in the blowing wind. So thirsty. He growled at himself. Quit fussing and start howling old man. Managing to get a large enough lung full Ako Mshai let out a howl, it was his best attempt at attempting to gain access as a friendly visitor into a pack’s territory as he could manage.
Getting old was tough; he grunted and dropped his head back down against the ground, panting heavily as he pulled his left forepaw as close to his body as he could. It really was starting to hurt.
