Hotaru could feel her insides coil in disgust as Amy scolded a male canine. The blind woman did not realize that there was another with Amy and she almost wished that she never found out about the males existence. A slave. The word felt dirty and bitter in Hotaru's mind. If the grey wolf had met Amy and her slave just a few months ago then Hotaru would have gladly tried to free the male. Now, such things were not possible. Hotaru was blind, and fairly new at being blind. She had neither the prowess nor the ability to engineer an escape.

The blind woman remained steadfast and kept her body language cool and confident. There was no hint of Hotaru's internal struggle in her mannerisms or voice. "I asked for his name. Let him speak. " Hotaru stood proud and strong. She did not show any signs of dominance, nor did she show any signs of submission. Hotaru was aware that her words might anger Amy, but really she couldn't care less.

Fawkes tensed when he saw the strange blond dog strike the injured dog. It was not unusual to see wolves use force to show dominance, but Fawkes could tell by his master's reaction that she disapproved. A small twitch of her reddish tail gave away exactly what Hotaru was thinking, but it took a trained eye and someone who knew his master very well to understand this. Fawkes spread his wings out more. This time the gesture was not to show force, but in preparation to fly. His Long brown wings bobbed slightly in the air, but he waited. If things turned ugly, Fawkes would give his life to keep his master safe.
