Table is ironic for the sheep XD Didn't really get into the chase all that much--I assumed this was like an introduction post? (Nootau: Not visible)

Today was one of the rare days that Alaster and Ralla got to spend together, what with duties and separate schedules and three other children to look after--two of them particular being very troublesome lately. Ralla didn't know where Ayasha and Ahiga were that day--Ayasha's disappearances being more frequent lately and increasingly more worrisome--but she could only assume them both doing their duties, having no other leads to go by. Sighing, she sent her son a smile when he tugged on her arm, worried about--but probably aware anyway--of her own troubles. Alaster rarely spoke without his twin in the vicinity, and so had learned to ask and communicate things with simple looks and actions. They sufficed.

The two had actually been on their way to the stables for Alaster to show his mother the growing lambs--she was pretty sure the boy would grow up to tread the Animal Caretaker path, as he spent time with the beasts enough--when the call was heard. Both mother and son pricked their ears to listen, and hastened their steps to the origin of the sound. There they found Ulilohi and a flustered Gemma...and empty pastures. Alaster's ears and face fell, but Ralla could only guess why there had been a summoning and such a scene. She knew what this meant if they could not be recovered, and thus knew the urgency as well. She looked at Ulilohi for a moment to at least give affirmation that they understood what had to be done, but before she could say a word her son was tugging her arm in one direction towards the surrounding forest. She guessed that meant the chase was on.

While the main village itself was on a clear plains (save for the occasional tree), the stables, pastures, and crop fields were much closer to the forest that encompassed them, and was thus dangerous for such gentle creatures. The borders might've kept other wolves out, but other predators were sometimes callous enough to come close to their territory. "Ayv agowadvdi saquu!" he whisper-shouted as he pointed out to where a flash on white was seen moving against an evergreen. Quickly the two luperci ran through the snow, but Ralla urged her son to go around one side while she went the other--a typical tactic normally used for hunting. As they pursued their target, a question was about to be answered: How many wolves did it take to catch a sheep?

Moon walks. "Moon talks." Moon thinks.
