Gemma whimpered some excuses and Ulilohi glanced at her, to the sheep, and back again. She was uncertain as to where to begin. Gemma could be seriously hurt - a ram should never be underestimated. Still... the sheep! It was lucky that the rams weren't on the loose too, as they would be quite dangerous to the pack's puppies and other fragiles. Turning towards Gemma, who had now started crygin, she spoke sternly, though not without care, to the woman. "How bad is your injury?" She began with the question, but instead of waiting came of better thoughts and answered it herself. "No, wait — I want you to go and see the medics in the Village, to make sure. Can you manage on your own?" Even if Ulilohi felt pity for the woman, who was now gushing tears as if it was flooding season, she did not have time to spare to help her unless absolutely necessary. If Gemma could manage on her own, that would be the best shot. She tried to appear patient and understanding while waiting for Gemma's answer, but the truth of it was that right then, Ulilohi had very little of either.

It didn't take long for some tribesmembers to appear. Some had immediately understood the situation, others had not. It was hard to take charge in a situation like this if you were not high of rank; she knew this all too well herself. Clearing her throat pointedly, she spoke to those that had come but were still bewildered. Those already at work with catching sheep might not hear her, but the councilwoman spoke extra loudly just in case. "The sheep have escaped! Please approach them with care and try to catch them — I mean to have every last sheep back in this pen by nightfall!" It was, perhaps, a considerable task in a short time period, but Ulilohi was not so certain that she was comfortable with having their sheep out in the middle of the night. One never knew what predators the AniWayans were competing with for food. Just as she had delivered that message, a few others arrived, and Ulilohi began to individually inform every fresh fact about what had happened. Then, she would be crossing her fingers like everyone else.
